Dora the Ninja

Last minute change in Q due to schedule adjustments, so I had to think up a workout pretty quickly for this post. I’ve been wanting to take advantage of the Elevate obstacle course at Ragnarok and this was the perfect time to do so…but how to make it really hard without crushing the PAX’s legs right before the Odyssey CSAUP?? Here’s how we did it: Ragnarok 22 Oct 2020 2000 - Welcome, Disclaimer, Pledge [Read More]

Lap the Fountain

The evening had a certain feel to it. The kind that would put you in the mood for a good workout! Mainly because it was a Tuesday night, and all know by now that thats Rush Hour time! 7 pax in total were there to get some sweat on (Captain Kirk would end up joining us for COT). So after the Pledge of Allegiance we were off and running. Disco Duck and WWW did some Bruiser walking. [Read More]

Pickles without Pickles

Note: I put the usual Parker jokes in the beginning of the BB. Anything over 20 words he typically skips. Going way too fast or tapping out after just a few reps has been a problem for a while I hear. OK now we can get down to business. (Note: I’ll put the Pierogi jokes at the end because I believe his issue is false advertising of the merchandise and never being able to close the sale. [Read More]

Music Delete

The best plans often go astray. Today was a lesson in adapting to a failure in my pre-blast: I planned Music, Merkins, and Mumblechatter. Good on two of those. A recent Andriod 11 update rendered my usual music playing app useless. In hindsight I should have tested this the night before. Lesson learned. The PAX were disappointed by the silence. I tried to figure out how to stretch the workout because I planned a nice, new thang to a song. [Read More]

Factor of 5 Escalator during the Rush Hour

Date: 9/22/20 AO: Rush Hour PAX: Cauliflower, Chewie, Disco Duck, Horatio, Kermit, Speed Racer, WWW I thought I was going to fartsack the whole day but as I got to class, the instructor mentioned that we are getting out at 4;00 pm. That brought a smile to me face because I realized that I can make Rush Hour. What was glorious about working out in Rush Hour is the weather was absolutely amazing. [Read More]

Runner's Arms Fixed Here

Sick and tired of being made fun of by Flip Flop, a few runners took a break from The Maynard to work on some other muscles. However, runner or not, today’s workout pushed everyone a little out of their comfort zone **Warm-Up **Circle up for some Good Mornings, Windmills, Steve Earles, Arm Circles **Thang One **With everyone standing in a circle I called out exercises to be completed for 1 minute OYO (w/30-second recovery), except for those standing in front of the fun toys I brought. To Taper or Not?

What is this thing that is called the BRR taper? 13 men showed up at Thomas Brooks park, the site of Field of Dreams, to find out. Four were doing some EC pull-ups before the bell rang at 0545. No site Qs, no flag, let’s go. Warm Up Mosey lap, circle up. SSHs, Sir Fazio arm circles, Steve Earles, Runners stretch, Calf stretch, Pigeon stretch, and CF Merkins The Thang Pick a non-traveling rock. [Read More]

Some Kettle Bells are made of Tin2Iron

The PAX didn’t know they were posting for Hell’s Bells 2.0 in the Gloom this morning, which made the surprise all the more worth it! Tin2Iron is a difficult workout to plan due to the no running rule. As a Q, you want a good, hard workout with plenty of sweat…so my choice for getting hearts pumping was a massive amount of kettle bell swings! Fun times were had, here’s the workout: [Read More]
