Nothing Special

After a February full of cold and rain, March comes in like a lamb with beautiful weather in the 60s. Warm-Up Mosey up the hill towards Laurel Park Elementary and circle up in the parking lot for good mornings, imperial walkers, Sir Fazios forwards, copperhead merkins, copperhead squats, arm twirlies in reverse. The Thang The back of the parking lot has a straightaway that’s just perfect for 10-10 sprints. 10 monkey humpers, 10 dry docks, run to the first light pole and back. [Read More]

Mosey back across the street to the picnic tables for Dora. [Read More]

That's Ten Enough

We had 18 PAX gather this morning at Tortoises to celebrate my 4 year F3 anniversary. I’m not sure if many of them were there to support me or if it was the fact that is was pouring rain yesterday and its going to be chilly with light snow tomorrow. 45 degrees with heavy mumblechatter. With 5:30 approaching, we started with the Pledge. Its a great way to start the day, and an even better way to get everyones attention. [Read More]

Gotta Get Back in Time

Well the theme of my recent Qs has been Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V ala Hoppin John, but y’all had to know THIS one was coming. Last year on 1/21, Blowout joined me at Claymore for the least-attended themed Q in F3 history, and we had one heck of a time. When I saw a limited run Q spot open on 1/21 this year… I knew it was time. Gather up, no FNGs, scoop up a CMU, and here we go! [Read More]

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Been to Claymore a few times lately as YHC was on the IR for a few weeks. Time to step up and lead - and to show that you can get a really great workout without much running. Warm Up Mosey to the circle near the tennis courts following the Pledge. Circle up for SSHs, Sir Fazio arm circles forward and reverse, and Steve Earles. The Thang Mosey to the tennis courts, head to a far corner. [Read More]

A-Team (6 Years Later)

The title of this backblast is a tip of the cap to Nabisco’s original backblast title “A-Team” six years ago. Just like his Q then, my Q today was flawlessly executed. 16 pax 6 years ago, 26 today (27 pax at COT having McCants join us - which is perfect as he was there 6 years ago with 75%) showed up to help YHC celebrate. I enjoy recreating this beatdown each year but with some modifications. [Read More]

Baselines and backblasts

January 1. Symbolically speaking, a turning of a new leaf. And while most years are met with some degree of glee and dread, it’s pretty safe to say that the vast majority of us today are expecting much greater things from 2021 than 2020 gave us. So, with that in mind, today’s Dante’s Peak beatdown aimed to set new bars and improve on past glories. Warm-up: I have been working on getting a couple of guys from my son’s BSA troop out for months now and got a positive response last night from one of the dad’s about potentially joining us at DP this morning. Cancel culture calls on Claymore

YHC signed up for the Claymore Q on Sunday. It’s a fun AO with some of the world’s heaviest rocks. And a great place to give the feet a bit of a rest. It also has some of CARPEx’s most worldly site-Qs, some of whom are known to be so busy that they barely make it to the AO on time most days. So it was not a surprise that there were more ladies in the parking lot at 5:40AM than there were representatives of CARPEx’s finest. [Read More]
