QSwap @ Flirting With Disaster – or – Slide Rules Goes to Carpex!

Background: For those who don’t know, Carpex is world region locally renowned for their Mumble Chatter. Also, the last time I Q’d in #SouthWake, the neighborhood FB / community running pages lit up with complaints about that “infernal loud counting” by F3 (aka YHC). Seems like a match made in heaven. Let’s make some NOISE boys! Background Pt 2: YHC arrived a little early to find PetSounds standing in the parking lot…in dockers and an argyle sweater. [Read More]

Shuttyversary Day 3: Gettin' After It

YHC and a crew of 7 hit up a little EC Phoenix run to kick the morning off. A 1 mile down / 1 mile back run. Upon return to Phoenix there was a new face amongst the crowd. Apparently 1 HIM-in-training saw YHC’s call to action on Facebook to join some men in the outdoors and the cold for a 0630 workout! Welcome FNG Butterscotch! Disclaimer was applied and we lapped the parking lot and ran out to the intersection for our #ShutInStandard Warmup. [Read More]

Do, or do not. There is no Try.

Backstory: Several weeks (months?) ago, the M and I were sitting at home on our usual Wednesday night date night when the ad for “The Last Jedi” came on TV. A few clicks of the iPhone and I had tickets for opening night, 12/14. Asked her if she wanted to go, “Not really”. So, 3 tickets for me and the 2.0s. And then a week or two later, the announcement comes out about F3 Carpex Christmas Party. [Read More]

12 Days of Christmas Already?

Got to the park with 15 mins. to go and already had a couple people there. I chatted with Yoga Mat but headed off to see how far my warm up lap was. About 0.6 miles which would work nicely. Warm up Up the hill and around the parking lot to Chanticleer’s for Plank hold, 10 Plank Jacks, 10 Mountain Climbers, 10 Good Mornings and 10 Donkey Kicks. Then we jogged back to the park. 11/21 2.4 mile string of pearl

19 pax for a 2.4 mile loop stopping at about 5 spots for some pain stations. Joe Smith led us for some Homer to Marge work at the LDS parking lot. We did some pull ups at the playground, a 10 count down the line inverted sunrise over US1, we finished with some one-arm merkins at the flag. Great work men! Dice gave us some great guidance on what F3 means to him. [Read More]

Flirtin With Respect

November 7th 2017 QIC Fluoride The Pax: Ollie, Sosa, Dice, Oofta, Saban, Kyrie, Lite Brite, Chanticleer, Titanic, Mufasa, WKRP, Term Paper, Whorley, Joe Smith, Hermes, Wonder Bread. It was a perfect morning at Marla Dorrell park as I rolled in for yet another beat down with my fellow pax. As I walked up I noticed Hermes seated in a lawn chair donning a straw hat and reading the paper. He said he was waiting to show me the add for Sprigmoor Retirement home, thought I might be interested. [Read More]

Shoulders for Days, and Some Running Too

This marks YHC’s second post at Bounty Hunters, excited to see the Q spot was open. My first post here was Franklin’s tour of downtown Apex. Today would be less informative and less pleasant. 17 PAX gathered in the gloom of the Apex Skate Park, no FNG’s, no site-Qs, so it was only appropriate that I planted the DZ flag, cause that’s how DZ rolls! Warmup - Jog to some random parking lot behind Apex Parks and Rec. [Read More]

Q-Drenaline

YHC was super pumped up with Q-Drenaline for his VQ. So pumped up that he initially got into the car this AM without his running shoes. So pumped up that he drew up a 2-sided weinke in 4-point font that was entirely unreadable in the early gloom. So pumped up that he was nearly made late for his own VQ while waiting for “Gonna Fly Now” from the Rocky Soundtrack to download, so that YHC could get into the proper mental/emotional state on the drive to FWD. A Bridge Too Far

I arrive at AO I normally don’t visit that often (I tend to go to FOD) but I do enjoy this site and the options it brings. 22 PAX show-up on time ready for another beat down. Welcome FNG Kyrie! Q starts by getting the guys to grab some curb and do a round of quick feet, a good way to warm up before the warm up. We head out running slowly around the corner for: [Read More]

SNS -- The New Outdoor Gym

I arrive at SNS after not posting here for some time being a regular at Tortoises to a crowd of PAX either hanging out or running in from all directions. Seems SNS has turned into an outdoor gym environment where you can do running, beatdowns, several aerobic options. What is next, cycling and yoga classes? Anywho, 30 plus guys gathered, some ran away for Vesper, some stayed with me for the traditional beatdown. [Read More]
