Acceleration of the King

Who are all these guys? YHC clearly needs to go to Slippery When Wet more often. There are at least 4 PAX that I’ve never had the pleasure to meet previously. However, with all the newer PAX, as the clock reached 0545 there were no site Qs or shovel flags in existence. Therefore, a form of the disclaimer is exclaimed, and YHC stated the mission of F3 (Hermes was given a shot at the mission, but failed. [Read More]

12 Guys Just Doing Some Work

For weeks - WEEKS! - I’ve been trying to get these East Caryites to do some EC pull-ups. The response? “We only run over here in East Cary, Ma Bell. Take your pull-ups and shove it.” I might be paraphrasing, but the result was the same nonetheless: no ECPs at FWD. Fast forward to Sunday. Headed back from the lake, I’m checking out the Q sheet when I notice a blank at FWD. [Read More]

The Freedom Trail July 4th Convergence

@Qwerty, @Red Ryder and YHC met last week to plan the 2019 July 4th Convergence hoping to create something special. Our goal was to keep the PAX together in order to preserve fellowship and maybe a few exercises in-between. The disclaimer was disclaimed, the F3 Mission was delivered and Whitney Houston’s Star Spangled Banner put the PAX in a USA state of mind that included a Fly Over courtesy of Delta. [Read More]

Inverted Sunrise at FwD 06-18-19

YHC is honored to Q this morning at my old stomping grounds. It is good to be back. Chipper, Jiggly Puff and YHC followed Oofta’s lead on a 3ish mile EC run launching at 4:55. It looked like a couple others got in a shorter EC run. Circle up, disclaimer, moment of silence for Warchild. The Warmup: Follow me, jog around the pickle, some Good Mornings, Windmills, Sir Farzio Arm Circles and SSH for good measure. [Read More]

Commitment

Today is my birthday. I signed up over a month ago for this workout, not knowing what I’d be doing the preceding few days. This was a mistake. In hindsight, fartsacking would have been a great idea. However, I’m not one to back down off a commitment! I said I was going to do it, so I’m going to do it. I will note, however, that my body was in sever protest after yesterday’s 12-Mile ruck, Murph Convergence, and full day of actively working outside in the heat. [Read More]

Bass Ackwards

Slippery When Wet, May 17, 2019. 18 pax. 1099, Banjo, Captain Jack, Chanticler, Chipper, Denali, Grease Monkey, Greenbo, Hermes, Joe Smith, Kitty Litter, Michelob, Oofta, Quiver, Smokey, Stetson, Titanic, Whirlie, YHC is proof that tenure means nothing when executing a perfect Q. Unlike Frisco, who stole the show on his first ~5~ 10 VQs, YHC has learned next to nothing on how to operate the F3 Q machine. But if catching it on the chin from fellow pax is a sign of respect, boy did I get it today. [Read More]

"Are we doing that Clock Thingy Workout?"

So this is the fourth time I’ve pulled out this workout, but It has yet to get a name that has stuck. Term Paper remembered it and yelled out the above quote as we did our warm up run, but I don’t think Clock Thingy Workout is the one. Today I Googled “Circle of Fitness” and two things happened. First, this random guy’s image came up, and two, I saw something that read “Wheel of Fitness. [Read More]

Flirtin' with The Murph

Hi-Liter asked me to step in for the FWD Q this week, I was honored! Leading up to the Q, I thought to myself, What would Hi-Liter do? I figured it had been at least 4 or 5 days since his last Murph, so it must be time for another Murph, right?! But the famous Memorial Day Murph convergence is right around the corner. Now FWD is strategically placed .5 miles from Cary’s flagship pedestrian bridge, which is irresistible to YHC with the Q. [Read More]

I will not leave you

Men, Two years ago today I showed up in the F3 Carpex Gloom at the invite of my fraternity brother, Jamie “Repeato” Roseborough. I had been back in North Carolina for about eight months and things were going well. I was getting in workouts about three days a week in the gym and crushing a strong 2-3 mile solo run on the weekend. Things were fine, right? Wrong. Something was still missing, and as they say, you now know the rest of the story. [Read More]
