No Merkins

I posted at Danger Zone last week for only the second time to do a little recon as far as what I had to work with for today’s 6 month anniversary Q. McCants was a fantastic Q and showed us all, all of the finer areas this AO had to offer. I had a plan, sort of… That plan consisted of a Dora at the pavilion with dips and derkins and other lovely upper body work! [Read More]

And in this corner...

With the upcoming Haven House Rumble, YHC thought I should try to train at least a little bit for the dance around the squared circle. It was a great morning to show up with a loosely developed plan. Watching a few clips of The One and Only Tony Horton inspired some P90x style exercises. 0545 Circle Up, Mission, Pledge, Disclaimer Warm-Up: a couple of fellowship mosey trips around the pickle with some invigorating butt kickers, high knees, and karaokes. 7 of Diamonds

F3 Carpex is in a great spot. I don’t mean location. F3 Carpex is healthy and growing. In some ways it seems like our growth is limitless. I cannot begin to imagine how many AOs there will be five years from now. Many AOs, on a nice morning, will have well over 20 guys post. The energy is high, the mumble chatter is relentless. But I was reminded this morning of how a small group of men can be a refreshing change. [Read More]

Not My Finest Hour (and 20 minutes)

Where do I start? The beginning is always a good place. So I woke up at 5:10 am, the exact time I posted the Danger Zone EC run would start. Feeling completely refreshed and well rested, and not yet comprehending what was going on, I went to the bathroom to get ready and take care of some business. Still in no particular hurry because I wasn’t yet grasping the situation. [Read More]

Viva la revolucion!

14 was the magic number in Carpex on Friday, and that’s how many PAX turned out at Danger Zone to end the work week. We started with a couple of laps around the pickle (what’s with all the running?) - then circled up for a quick warm-up including SSH, merkins, mountain climbers, imperial walkers and, since you can’t have a great day without them, good mornings. Another 3/4 lap around the pickle to the basketball court, and circle up. [Read More]
