No Music - Plenty of Heavy Lifting

D YHC has been absent from posting due to family and travel. So it was good to get back into the swing of things with my second Q…..much appreciated Frisco…… We were 16 strong HIMS this morning. My apologies for not getting all 16 listed. There were tech difficulties with the video on my phone and I was not able to get everyone accounted for….as some may have thought YHC is not perfect [Read More]

Warning and Warming

Our brother Chinese Downhill was scheduled to Q at Dante’s Peak this morning, but something came up and he needed someone to cover for him. We talked this week about picking up the six, here it is in action. Trike agreed to take the Q, and asked YHC to co-Q with him, so let’s go. Warm-Up 23 pax make our way down to the circle at the end of the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops. [Read More]

Changing of the Guard

Due to technical issues, there is not a way to have the QIC list both Beaker and YHC as the QIC but he was in the mix and deserves the glory. Warm-up Beaker led all the PAX from the flag over to the other lower parking lot and back again to get the legs moving. Once we circled back up we enjoyed a few other treats: SSH x 20 Windmills x 10 Slow Count Merkins x 10 Good Mornings x 10 Thang 1 [Read More]

Cold Burpees

It was a cold morning at the finest AO in NW Cary, on a Thursday morning. The mumblechatter abounded on slack about the impending Burpee beatdown and there were still two dozen PAX in attendance. Here is how it went down…. Disclaimer to two FNGs - Welcome Molson and Ratchet! At 5:45 sharp many PAXs were surprised as YHC started jogging. The Princess Bride

Today the brute squad assembled early in the fields of Florin to enjoy a workout that would include Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles. However the pax wasn’t impressed and responded. “Doesn’t sound too bad. I’ll try to stay awake”, “Oh, well, thank you very much, very nice of you. Your vote of confidence is overwhelming” dread pirate pivot answered back…. A quick warm-up lap around the parking lot and then circle up to meet the characters [Read More]

Backblast

Is it gonna rain, or isn’t it. Last night Steve said it was likely to rain. This morning, he’s saying it won’t. 17, er, 18 HIMs braved the uncertainty that is the iPhone weather app and posted on a near-perfect 50 degree November morning. First exercise, the Pledge of Allegiance Warm Up Pet Sounds arrives. Slow count Good Mornings, Sir Fazio arm circles, overhead claps, Steve Earles, Cotton Pickers, and Merkins (on my down AND up). Invitations went out to the entire PAX however Ma Bell, Largemouth, Biner, PBX, Katniss, Bogo, Two Factor, Liverpool, Sosa, Crimson & YHC RSVP’d. We gathered in the parking lot and ran over to the shelter near the soccer field, but when we arrived I noticed the food I ordered from the caterers hadn’t arrived yet. [Read More]

37 degrees and sideways rain. Sounds like a great day for a Flying Circus splashdown. To add intrigue, YHC teased a mystery guest co-Q on the Slackosphere the day prior. Just at the right moment, Earhart delivers Ninjago to the site of today’s beatdown. Warmup First exercise, the Pledge of Allegiance. Then, circle up and turn it over to Ninjago for some Hillbillies, Good mornings, and get this…Ninjago calls warm up Merkins. [Read More]
