Kettle What???

The Carpex challenge tour continues as YHC takes the Q at the premiere (only) Carpex Kettlebell workout! Admittedly, YHC is not typically a KB guy, but as previously stated, Carpex challenge. I have a friend that posts some KB workouts on the book of face so I was going to steal one of her workouts, until I tried to do the first set of exercises and realized my bell was too heavy and I would die if I attempted that. Vanilla or Spicy?

That was the question leading into this Q. Was this going to a plain vanilla standard bootcamp or will I think of something spicy to throw at the Pax. Let’s wait to answer this at the end. FNG was present so standard disclaimer given to also include social distancing and avoidance of fist bumps. And we’re off. Mosey up the hill and over to the basketball court for warmups. Also included the first 5 reps of Jack Webb. [Read More]

Peace Disturbed

Its been a long time since I wrote a back blast. I think I have skipped writing one for the last 5-6 times I’ve Q’d. With trying to keep track of Pax attending workouts I better write this out to keep us all safe. So I’m going to keep this simple too. Standard warmup/stretching in Apex PD parking lot. Mosey to bottom of hill and partner up. Time for some Catch me if you can. [Read More]

A little bit of VENOM

Date: 8/24/2020 QIC: Bartman YHC was happy to grab a Q spot at Hell’s Bells, and even happier to stumble upon some inspiration for the workout on the facetubes. F3 Little Spoon posted a quick “while your M is off doing top secret bond girl stuff” workout, and while clearly his lifestyle is not typical suburbia, it sounded like a good “while your M is yelling at the kids to get out of bed” material. Merkins in the time of Blue Ridge

I have never seen “Love in the time of cholera”. Now there is “Love in the time of Corona”. Haven’t seen that either. But Friday at DP, we had something better. Arm work in the time of run-heavy Qs. But as with many workouts nowadays, this one started the night before with mindgames from Headroom. EC at 5am tomorrow. Let’s get in some miles!!! Headroom… circa 8pm Sure, sounds good. HC. 10 PAX gather in the gloom for an Eahart KB beatdown. As I pull up a group of HIM were running in after some EC/BRR training. Personally, I will be glad once BRR is done and we can get back to F3. Anywho, Mosey around the parking lot and to the front of the church for: Warm Up Control freak Good Mornings Imperial Walkers Side Straddle Hops Sir Fazio/Seal Claps [Read More]

0.99 and some Wildlife Rescue

YHC arrived at Sovereign Grace church for a little ECP. No one there, except for me and 3 young raccoons stuck in a dumpster in 6 inches of standing water. First, not sure how anyone within a quarter mile could sleep with those raccoons crying as loud as they were. I put my pullups on hold a bit to investigate, and then the PAX started to arrive. Being that I like to stay on task, we continued to discuss and troubleshoot the situation during the workout. [Read More]

It Was All Cauliflower's Idea

Picasso is credited with saying, “good artists borrow, great artists steal”. Whether Picasso coined that phrase is under debate, but I believe the sentiment to be true. I got this idea from Cauliflower at Rush Hour and expanded on it a bit. Started with the pledge and mosey. Warm Up Good Mornings Elevator Merkins Imperial Walkers Runner’s Stretch Sir Fazio Forward Seal Claps Sir Fazio Reverse Only Thang All PAX grabbed a bell and a cinder block. [Read More]

Hot in Herre

6 PAX gather in the oppressive heat of July in North Carolina for an Earhart beatdown. As reference, heat index for that time of day was 105. Whew. Mosey over to the old parking deck and up the stairs to the very top for: Warm Up Control freak Good Afternoons Windmills Side Straddle Hops Sir Fazio (done after going to the bottom deck) The Thang Done with warm-ups, we mosey over to the field and behind the parking deck to retrieve the pain sticks. For our furry friends

It was good to be back at Lion’s Den and see all the guys I see at other times during the week, just at a different location. Seriously, this AO means a lot to me and I’m glad to see it is thriving under @Ramsey and @Slim Shady’s leadership. For this workout I wanted to recognize those furry friends in our lives that give us comfort, entertainment and unconditional love. Make sure to give your pet a hug today, unless it is gross, like a fish or reptile. [Read More]
