Brought my weinke to a church parking lot

Opening- Working on a short notice from Banjo that he couldn’t Q this morning, YHC quickly threw my name on the Q-sheet. No FNG’s this morning. No sense in wasting any time so recited the Pledge and let’s get working. Warm-up- After a slow mosey around the pickle we circled up for a Crimson favorite of extremely slow Good Mornings, SSH, Sir Fazio, calf stretch, and windmill. The Thang #1- First we counted off into two groups. [Read More]

Mission: Revisit Al Bundy’s legendary four touchdown game for the Polk High Panthers with a football practice style workout Warm Up: Mosey around the outside of the park back to the end of the parking lot at a *medium* pace, stretch a little (good mornings / calf stretches) then pay the piper (59 SSHs (with a break for half time), one for every point the Dolphins allowed in Week 1, plank for a 43 count, one for every point allowed in Week 2, and 23 merkins for the spread in Week 3) - Tanking for Tua has a price, people! Andrew Dice Claymore

Dodecahedron Of Pain I had been really nervous about the day I was going to be asked to lead a workout. More or less hoping I would just blend into the background with the rest of the PAX. Mainly just because Im not usually a person who likes to be the center of attention, which its a literal requirement during a VQ. But when the guys I am close with decided VQ week was going to be when they did it, I decided to get over my nervousness and I signed up. [Read More]

Where's Frisco?

0510 I pull in to parking lot for my Hell’s Bells VQ and the only other PAX is Ryder about to warmup with some pullups. Where’s my Co-Q Frisco? Nowhere in sight. PAX start arriving and Honeycomb brought an FNG, Jake. First exercise was the pledge, and then a quick warm up mosey doing a figure 8 in parking lot. Cue Crimson’s first “This is supposed to be low running” complaint of the morning (only two more to go). [Read More]

What are these Bells for anyway?

YHC did something a bit unusual and decided to Q a Kettle bell workout today. This one required some prep work and I hit the ground at the newest of locations for Hells Bells and was greeted with 24 brave souls. My ride for the day (or really for most days) Nature Boy was a bit delingquent today so Earhart was really sweatting whether or not we would make it. We did - three minutes to spare - no problem. Anything for a Q-zie

While perusing our beautiful Q-sheet, looking for a spot to q and remembered I had never Q’d FMJ and there was an open spot and you get a koozie. I mean when stars align you go with it, even if you don’t have a theme ready to go. Everyone gathered in the parking lot, trying to stay away from the problematic traffic coming in. Disclaimer for the Pax/FNGs and we’re off. [Read More]

Exicon ABC

43 in attendance. 3 Ruckers, 16 Bootcampers, bunch of runners including those that ran the Maynard. What a way to start off “hump day”…in the doom and gloom of SNS. I am starting a series called Exicon ABC. We will be using exercises from those three (or sometimes 4) letters of the alphabet until we complete the alphabet. Today was ABC. Warm up Abe Vigoda Alternating shoulder taps in a plank position Annie (Arm circles from a plank position) Thang 1 [Read More]

Rock Webbs Rock?

Arrived at 5:00ish to with my new headlamp to scout out some areas we hadn’t visited in awhile. No Upper Body for YHC

It’s well known in Carpex how if you want to get on the Q sheet you need to plan ahead. So, that is exactly what YHC did when signing up for various Qs throughout the year. However 22 days ago YHC fell off his bike, was taken to the ER, and messed up his shoulder pretty bad. After having to give up 2 of my Qs since then, it was time to get back out there! [Read More]

A stroll around the block

An even dozen found their way to the lower parking lot this morning which seems to be the only place we can start Hells Bells now. The top lot is always locked. No Pax were late so Red Ryder was disappointed we didn’t start with burpees. Warm-up – Everyone picked up a traveling bell and moseyed over the the parking lot. Warmed up with SSH, Good Mornings, calf stretch, and followed by sir fazio forward and backward. [Read More]
