Day 28.

We Murphed. It was glorious. Almost exactly 1 mile run to a playground at Mama’s Boy’s neighborhood pool. There were tunes. Hello Kitty doesn’t much care for the Rolling Stones. Nobody argued with him. Joe Smith is STRONG at pull-ups. STRONG. By the way, Dazed & Confused is back at Apex High School. Try to park as far away as possible as not to upset teachers with assigned parking spots. And circle up off to the side so incoming teachers don’t run you over. [Read More]

Five Alive

The Thang Mosey to the bottom of the hill next to the parking deck for Five Alive. Five rounds of 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 squats, 20 dry docks, 25 LBCs with a quick trip up and down the hill. 60 degrees with wind chill of 45, perfect weather for a beatdown. Warm-Up Mosey to the front of the church and circle up for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios, daisy pickers, copperhead merkins, copperhead squats and burpees (Smithers was two seconds late, the flag touched the ground, Hi-Liter made fun of my car). Cougar Town, 30-40 make 70's

The idea for this Q came from my curiosity on whether there is actually a definition of being a cougar. Reliable, first-page Google hits assure that there is, indeed. The possibility of being a cougar begins at 40 years old, with a typical 10 year gap, thus making the average cub a barely-escaped hate at 30 (coincidentally also YHC’s age). Less than 2% of US relationships meet this definition, so if you, gentle reader, are one of them, you are one of the few, the proud, the cradle-graved. [Read More]

Boxcars!

Every year on the Ides of March, YHC has the distinct honor to celebrate the anniversary of his first F3 post. Today on the 6th installment I was honored once again to do so with my F3 Carpex brothers. We gathered outside the open gates* of Apex Community Park, home of A-Team, and noted the peak spring gloom, having endured a full 26 hours of Daylight Savings Time. 3/4ths of the ShieldRuck was on hand, one in a Cubs jersey #oversight. Disclaimer: We Won't Run.

YHC hadn’t posted since Hot for Teacher last week as I was dealing with a bum ankle, so when coming up with a plan for this morning, I thought it’d be a good idea to limit the running and just hit upper body hard. I announced to the group how unprofessional I am and made a disclaimer that we wouldn’t be doing a lot of running. I quickly realized in the first mosey that the ankle was feeling pretty darn good so I changed my plans on the fly and incorporated the worst hill I could find. [Read More]

Blue Ridge Relay 2020 Recap

Well, someone suggested it and it sounded like a great idea, so here’s YHC’s recap of his first Blue Ridge Relay. I’m a little long winded at times, so if anyone else decides to read this, sorry in advance. Heading out: Due to lack of child care, YHC was in charge of the 2.0 on Thursday when everyone was set to leave, meaning I was in the PM van. No big deal, since I was van 2 anyway and did not need to get up early. [Read More]

OCD is no laughing matter

Aside: Kudos to BRR Team COT on the Quaranteam concept. T-CEPS, even. Driving to #DTP this morning around 5:15, I see one car after another turning in to David Dr Park. “Man, that’s a lot of cars for a team of 12”, thought I. Found out later that a massive run club meets at Wolverine on Tuesday mornings as well. LOL. So much for social distancing… :) But seriously, great initiative. [Read More]
