4x13

To borrow a phrase from our Nantan, Ma Bell, today I reached level 52 of life. A strong group of 18 PAX (13 bootcampers, 4 ruckers and 1 bruiser) joined in on the celebration this morning at our Gran Torino AO. Awesome weather for a beatdown with temps in the mid/upper 40s. Let’s see how the old guy did… Warm-Up Jog through parking lot over to the bus loop and circle up for: [Read More]

An IMPromptu Beatdown

Riptide was on the Q sheet. Unfortunately, his M is very sick and he wasn’t able to make it. He did message the site q’s in advance, but I didn’t see the message until after the workout. Rooney had work early this AM, so YHC took the helm for a Q off the top of the dome. Here’s what went down: WARM-UP Jog over to the Pre-School parking lot. Mosey over to the Pre-School parking lot. #F3MentalBattle

37 shakers and vesperers came in to the gloom on special day across F3 Nation, a day where we set aside some time during COT to talk about mental health. But first we have to squeeze 45 minutes of pain into 35 minutes. To help us out, and to illustrate a point, we’re taking one of the Rolling Stone coupons with us, a solid, sturdy log, large and heavy enough that it requires two PAX to carry it. [Read More]

Meet the Pivots

Twas another splendid Tuesday morning in at Field of Dreams. YHC was ready to go after a brisk run to the AO with BOGO, Squatter, and Michelob. We gathered, I recited some form of a disclaimer. Debate ensued on whether we should state the fact that it is a disclaimer, or if we should simply disclaim. Quick mosey around the parking lot and we all join the pivot family circle of trust for warmups. [Read More]

Low Mileage but High Burn

No CARPEx PAX were surprised this morning when YHC made the announcement that today was going to be a low-mileage day. At least not those with access to (and the time to check) Slack. But nevertheless, after both a disclaimer and a reminder that F3 is about building better men and better leaders, there was an opportunity for the gazelles in the audience to make their way to A-team. Finding that none took the opportunity, “play” was hit on the ol’ bluetooth enabled noise box and we proceeded to enjoy some camaraderie while getting a bit of a sweat on. [Read More]

Hello Kitty Q'd Dante's Peak on a Friday in Apex

I’ll admit, sometimes I still flip on the ole GPS to get me out to DP, but when I get there I’m reminded at just how glorious this site is. A few hombres showed up at 0510 for ECP and laps. The only way to get better at pull-ups is to do more pull-ups. Aye! Back to the lot around 5:35 for record PUT6 w/ The Commish. Episode available HERE. [Read More]

The Rain Will Stop at 545

15 Pax made it out to a wet and wild time at FC. Beaker and Sub EC ran to FOD and back. Site Q Sky Blue did an EC shovelflag drop off them met Franklin at the airport for some #WorkF. Goose was out too so no Site Qs but the flag still stands! As guys gather before the bell rings the rain was picking up and so was the wind. [Read More]

Start Late, Finish Early

4am. 10 month old is up and Daddy Dooty begins. Roughly 510, YHC sneeks out of nursery, dresses and hits the door in hopes to make the 520 pre run. As I come flying in, I see an empty parking lot. Luckily, Denali arrives a few min later and we take off on a leisurely stroll through Cary’s finest back roads. 542, we both realize we are going to be late getting back. [Read More]

Tobacco Road Aftermath

15 HIM gathered under starlit skies to welcome the new week. 5 of us were (are) recovering from either running or rucking the Tobacco Road Half Marathon, so YHC had a special recovery edition planned. The theme featured plenty of Broga to loosen us up, and a few traditional bootcamp moves to keep everything moving. Round up the PAX for the pledge (YHC was a little disoriented but eventually got redirected to the flag…) [Read More]

Slow Roast Chicken

This was Q #5 and I keep thinking about what makes for a good beat down. If yesterday at BH was a pan-seared steak and then put in the oven to finish, today was all about the slow cook, a nice crockpot set on the counter emitting aromas that fill the house with love and warmth. Hanson and YHC showed up for EC and ECP respectively. If you ever have a chance to run some EC with Hanson you won’t regret the push and the fellowship. [Read More]
