Coupon Crushing Turtle Power

Limited running but lots of muscle flexing, cinder block crushing, turtle power. It was like Tortoise heaven this morning for three regular PAX and one FNG, now known as “Artful.” Warm-up: 20 x SSH; 20 x plank jacks; 20 x mountain climbers; 20 merkins Thang 1: Each man grabbed a cinder block to one end of the parking lot. Some of you may have heard or participated in the Walk to Bethlehem challenge put out by Ma Bell and Term Paper to accumulate 96 miles (the estimated distance from Nazareth to Bethlehem) in any activity over the 21 days of Advent. I pulled in to the parking lot at Salem Pond Park excited about my first Q at Full Metal Jacket. Banjo was there, McCants was there, I knew we had to do some burpees. Warm-Up Mosey around the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, cotton pickers, an attempt at Sir Fazio arm circles that was derailed by Hermes’s counting and YHC’s laughter, followed by ten penalty burpees. It was an honor to lead 13 Stallions/Clydesdales for a “limited run” workout. Just one for the Mutant Mile EC, nice jog to BH and back. YHC was questionable Tuesday night as a chronically painful achilles tendon was joined by a strained hamstring courtesy of some lunch-time ultimate on Tuesday. To leave my fellow Tortoises without a Q on such short notice just wouldn’t do.
