Light Posts Rocks

So it is another fine day in southern Cary and how else should we start other than with nice cold 5:30am exercise with 12 PAXs. Warm Up It was cold, well at least I was, so we ran from flag toward park and did two laps so we would not be too cold during warm up. Then we started with 12 Good Mornings because the Q was having trouble breathing and counting at the same time and did not know when to stop. No 605 Boys

14 early birds opted for the latest and greatest 0515 AO ever to grace Carpex with its presence! As AC/DC’s “Back in Black” lit up the airwaves of the Kokabooth parking lot pax began arriving in their themed black attire. Forget tanks. “Badass Black” all DAY! The question, “Do we need headlamps?” was presented and quickly laughed off by the 3 co-site Qs. Yes, 3 site Qs. Let’s meet them: Hermes - cofounder of FWD, greek god, and headband wearer. Q-ing from the Sidelines

Flirting with Disaster was my first F3 post last August and I knew that I wanted my VQ to be here as well. It was a full circle as Joe Smith had his VQ at my first post and he was out there with us this morning. My goal was to cover some ground and avoid running in the pitch black (towards the bridge) as I didn’t know how may headlamps we would have amongst us. [Read More]

The LBJ

Kryponite was my 1st Carpex Post so why not go back to where it all started for my VQ to see how much I have improved from that cold January beat down. The adrenaline/nerves were high as we started 30 seconds early with a mosey to the large parking lot by the Koka booth entrance. I had one thing in mind for the 14 PAX who joined me on this adventure and that was high tempo. Magic 8 Ball (Dice)

It was a calm, dark, and misty morning at Phoenix as I prepared for my (solo) virgin Q, it also kinda served as an unofficial “kickoff” of VQ week, which will officially begin on Monday. As expected the butterflies were stirring and the adrenaline was flowing, but I was definitely ready! By 6:25 a total of 18 pax were gathered and ready for the workout, and after an official welcome at 6:30, we were off jogging to the parking lot of the community center for warm ups. [Read More]

10/5/18, The Liuzzo Scale of Magnitude of Vanillaness

5 for 7800° EC 3 mile run around the glorious Symphony Lake. 22 were there for the start of the standard issue vanilla boot camp, one could not handle the pressure and had to leave early. After the Pledge of Allegiance, we jogged to the parking deck for a standard Shut-In warmup followed by 70 LBCs in Cadence. Then went down the stairs and got in position for BTTW 5 count down the line and back, then we did some more LBCs, then we partnered up for Dora 1,2,3 with 100 Merkins, 200 calf raises and 300 LBCs. Brought to you by the Letters D and B

I went to Q school a couple of weeks ago. Since I am out of town and will miss the start of VQ week I decided to step up early and get this thang done. In my posts leading up to this I took lots of mental notes. Most of them were forgotten before the first exercise (do you really have to say ‘Recover’?). Thanks to those who helped with time keeping as my FitBit bit it this morning. [Read More]

Blackjack! (dealer folds)

In the fourth and final installment of Flaccoversary Week 2018, YHC’s eyes were a little bigger than his stomach. We stepped up to a buffet of Wolverines and put a few more on our plate than we could stomach. More on that later, for now you just need to know that 16 HIM gathered at Bond Park ready to cap the week with a Flacco-style beatdown. Which is sure to include some yoga. [Read More]

From Florence to Flora

If you’re like most of us much of your time, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual energy has been spent either preparing for, getting through or rebound from Hurricane Florence. And rightfully so. One of the great things about F3 is that it allows us to escape from the daily stresses and toil in a whole other way. This is how we went from Florence to Flora. Pledge of Allegiance Quick mosey that found us running backwards and high kneeing because I knew Frisco was enjoying himself too much. [Read More]

Crossing the Busy Road Twice

YHC always try and start his BB listing the number of Pax. It seems the past few Qs that’s been a feat of its own. We had 21 when we left the flag. We had 20 when we got back and we had 21 again when we got to our cars. Let the Q explain (and tell ya what we did!) 0530: Intro and Disclaimer (there was an applause of sorts even. [Read More]
