The Name Game (and Gerald Owens)

It’s been a loooong time since YHC has been to FWD. Wonder if anything has changed? YHC got out of the car and could hear Hermes squeaky, but booming voice, telling dad bad jokes. Nope, nothing has changed. After a lengthy disclaimer orated by YHC, the eleven of us were off on a warm-up run that included the FWD baby gherkin pickle and continued to the parking lot where we used to do Monkey Humpers in front of the Crossfit place. Coming Home and a Whole Bunch of Nickels

Preamble When Respect Week was announced, I immediately signed up to Q BO. You see, BO was where YHC’s first post occurred and where Ma Bell was born. Make no mistake: the couple of other so-called Ma Bells across F3 Nation are but impostors. There is only one Ma Bell. But I digress. Anyway, it is for this reason, as well as the fact that this is the best AO in CarPex in terms of variety and history, that I have an emotional attachment here. [Read More]

Is That Your Pickle? (or are you just happy to see me???)

Respect week. The GREATEST WEEK OF THE YEAR in carpex f3. The excitement was palpable at Salem Pond Park on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Several did an EC run, there were 2 for EC Shred and 2 more for EC pull-ups. After Hermes finished reading the obituaries, we got all 24!!! guys to start out with the Pledge. There was a little mini-disclaimer beforehand, but it was likely not heard due to the intense MC centering around bad old people jokes. [Read More]

Great job naming the "bridge," Tang...we've only called it that for always

I like this AO site…there’s a reason it hosts 3 of CARPEX’s workouts every week. I posted a bit early to scout the site for my ideas, said farewell to the EC bubbas and headed into the Gloom of Apex Community Park. I had originally planned on the Dora encompassing the loop from the pavilion all the way around the utility access trail and back through the parking lots (approx. . [Read More]

Feels Like NASCAR

It was indeed a great day to get up and workout in the early morning gloom! It was also YHC’s first time of leading a high tempo beatdown. So I had been looking forward to that, as well as receiving an FMJ camo koozie at the end, I’m not gonna lie! So after everyone arrived and stretched out: the runners came in, YHC gave the disclaimer, led the Pledge, and we were off! [Read More]

Truly This Is the Way

So I have this reoccuring nightmare where I wake up and Term Paper is–wait, Smokey told me not to use real names–so where “John Marriott” is–wait, Smokey said I can’t benefit from any therapy until my check clears. We’ll get back to the nightmare later. Suffice it to say that whenever I run into “John Marriot” at a workout I make sure I am not dreaming by pinching him. In my nightmare, “John” has a high pitched voice and sounds like a smurf getting their tail pulled when you pinch them. [Read More]

Orpheus in the Underworld

Build-a-Bear relinquished his Q yesterday. I assume he built a submarine, so that he could run up and down the continental shelf. YHC was glad to step in. 2 for EC (Oofta and Staubach) and 2 for 10-Mile ECME (Lookout and Chops). Mosey the long way to Lowes Foods parking lot. Warm-Up. Lots of stretching, inspired by (our boy) Bluewater last week. Thing 1: Santa’s Ladder From the Exicon: “Pick a spot in the distance. [Read More]
