Gotta Get Back in Time

Well the theme of my recent Qs has been Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V ala Hoppin John, but y’all had to know THIS one was coming. Last year on 1/21, Blowout joined me at Claymore for the least-attended themed Q in F3 history, and we had one heck of a time. When I saw a limited run Q spot open on 1/21 this year… I knew it was time. Gather up, no FNGs, scoop up a CMU, and here we go! [Read More]

FOD Old Timers Club

You know what we did and all of you are old timers as Beaker noted in Slack. Those that didn’t attend don’t need to know the details, but here is a summary: 4 corners throughout the park. Run, chest and shoulders, run, core, run, legs, run, practice what we learned. NMS Only Beaker kept this from being 100% respect Franklin convinced me to get there early to start with FOD run club and get in a 2-mile EC before the workout. [Read More]

B.E.E.R.

The idea for this Q started a few weeks ago when Sooey preblasted something about not wanting to drink alone at Off the Rails the next morning. My degenerate brain took that to mean that he was planning to bring alcohol of some sort the following morning. Turns out Sooey just didn’t want to post alone on a cold morning, but the seed of a beer-themed workout started to grow. Then last week at Off the Rails, Sooey mentioned that story to Disco Duck who was equally enthusiastic about some sort of beer-themed workout. [Read More]

A-Team (6 Years Later)

The title of this backblast is a tip of the cap to Nabisco’s original backblast title “A-Team” six years ago. Just like his Q then, my Q today was flawlessly executed. 16 pax 6 years ago, 26 today (27 pax at COT having McCants join us - which is perfect as he was there 6 years ago with 75%) showed up to help YHC celebrate. I enjoy recreating this beatdown each year but with some modifications. [Read More]

Sevens Three Ways

Site Q Sooey had promised 57 degrees this morning, and he was off by about 13 degrees, so 13 vets and 1 FNG had to deal with an Angry Duck Warm-Up Mosey to the Christmas tree in beautiful downtown Apex and circle up for a few warm-up exercises, including Good Mornings from Crimson. The Thang Mosey around the corner to the T-intersection next to the Methodist church and split into three groups. [Read More]

2nd to Last Day

We’re almost there!! This was my only second time posting at Point Break (I hung onto the edge of the magic carpet that is running EC with Lookout and then bailed for SNS one other time), but the spot was open this weekend, so the JP as imminent South-Caryite Q tour had an opportunity to continue. Can’t pass that up. Adjacent rolled up at 5:20 (stronnnnnng move by the site Qsee correction*), followed by 4 others. [Read More]

12 Days of Christmas Rocks FWD 12/22/20

1 For EC EC 1 mile bike ride - Oofta 6 For 2.5-3.3 mile EC run - Chipper, Lookout, Joe Smith, Oofta, Full House, YHC (not Shut-In) 14 circled up, we said the pledge and jogged over to standard warm up area. Warmup: Good mornings, hill billies and merkins (all Metatarsalgia friendly excersises). We then each grabbed a moderate rock and jogged across the Parkway (not the peakway) to lower office building front door. [Read More]

Lost one before the turn

Pre-blast: IR friendly. QIC is nursing some foot stuff. Nothing major but trying to get to the point where I don’t feel tightness first thing in the morning. With that in mind, I scan the area - through Google Maps of course - and see there may be a nice trail leading from one of the parking lots out to Lochmere Lake. Looks like a nice short cut to cool views and some rocks. [Read More]

We Already Did These

Pierogi made an astute observation on Sunday evening - there were 14, count ’em FOURTEEN empty Q slots for this week. Feeling personally called out by that, I scooped two of them. As we’ll see on Friday of this week, it was easy to select the two that I did. More on that on Friday. #foreshadowing I arrived at MDP at approx 5:04 (so as to avoid the pressure of joining the EC) to settle on the plan for the workout. [Read More]

"Vanilla" Cold as Ice Workout

When the Q sheet was empty for Point Break on Tuesday, I looked at the forecast for Wednesday morning at 5 am and saw that it was going to be a balmy 29 degrees. I was sold on the Q. But what to do at Point Break, so many options. My only option was to run, run and run some more to keep warm. So that is what we did. Pretty “vanilla” workout for Carpex standards. [Read More]
