Runner's Arms Fixed Here

Sick and tired of being made fun of by Flip Flop, a few runners took a break from The Maynard to work on some other muscles. However, runner or not, today’s workout pushed everyone a little out of their comfort zone **Warm-Up **Circle up for some Good Mornings, Windmills, Steve Earles, Arm Circles **Thang One **With everyone standing in a circle I called out exercises to be completed for 1 minute OYO (w/30-second recovery), except for those standing in front of the fun toys I brought. A Well Balanced Beatdown

The Green Mile is a great location to meet up in the gloom and workout. Though, with it being one of the longest, I felt it could be one of the more challenging bootcamps to lead, especially when the factor of heat is brought into the equation. So YHC considered it a great honor to come out and Q it, and one that I took very seriously. The weather started out very nice, and stayed nice really through the entire time! [Read More]

Add title

I couldn’t think of a title so I just kept what was already there. A few of us got after it a bit early for a little EC, and I saw a few guys getting a bit more after the workout. Here’s what happened in between. 0545, No FNGs so off we go for a quick parking lot tour before circling up for some Good Mornings, Windmills and Steve Earles. [Read More]

Secrets of the Beige Bros

Four dudes were “In”. Three dudes were not. Much like the Masons have their secret handshakes, the OA has it’s Ordeal and fraternities do bizarre things to biscuits, so to does the elite running club of CARPEx have a code. And much like the other ‘secrets’ above, theirs too is out in the open for everyone to see. But so subtle that most miss it. But it’s there, quietly reinforcing the fact that you, oh slow one, are just not fast enough. [Read More]

No Koozie = Hot Beer

Last night I dreamed of Q’ing FMJ and receiving a custom F3 FMJ koozie……like a badge of honor! So cool! Instead, I got shafted just like Mark Gottfried shafted the Wuffpack. I got shafted by the Nantan Emeritus, now demoted to FMJ Site-Q, Ma Pythonless Bell. Def a low point in my life. But sheeeiiiit, I drink my Brooksweisers fast enough, so don’t need your Koozie Ma Bell! I bet the other real Site-Q, Orphan, woulda remembered tho! [Read More]

A "Murph-ish" workout

This guy and Chanticleer for a little EC Bells were grabbed, instructions were given, running was questioned. **The Thang **Our workout was similar to a Murph in the sense that we ran a mile, did 3 exercises for a period of time, then finished with another mile. The 3 exercises were KB Merkin/Row combo; Goblet Squat; KB swing. We did sets of 5;10;15 respectively and repeated until we ran out of time. [Read More]

Snip-tonite

Nine PAX made it out to Kryptonite for a Monday morning Q to start the week off right. I decided to join Kryptonite Sunday evening and saw the Q spot was open. A quick message to Bagels confirmed and I decided to put a workout together. I have a love/hate relationship with F3 high-intensity workouts and thought doing the Q may help make amends. At 530 AM, we kicked it off on-time with the Pledge, and off we went. [Read More]

Happy Trails

About a year ago, Hermes led the PAX on a now-legendary Q down a narrow dirtbike trail that runs parallel to Highway 1. Hermes took the group all the way south to the Dairy Queen on Ten Ten. I got to thinking: what happens if you headed north on that trail instead? I saw the Q slot was open for Kryptonite, so I grabbed it. I ran the route twice over the weekend. [Read More]
