Class Participation

Big crowd this morning for a holiday week, lots of familiar faces, some new guys I hadn’t met, and two FNGs. Give the FNGs the Disclaimer (in perfect cadence) and we’re off! Warm-Up Take a lap around the parking lot then mosey over to the lot next to the pavilion and circle up for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, prisoner squats, plank jacks, merkins and Good Mornings. Because you can’t Have A Nice Day without a Good Morning. [Read More]

~~~Ride~~The~~Wave~~~
2nd F event on Tuesday night prior to the Wednesday Q was bad idea. Well the actual event wasn’t a bad idea, but those last 4 Brooksweisers were prolly a really bad idea. But hey, great opportunity for a 2nd F baseball game with your F3 brothers! The mighty Holly Springs Salamanders, affectionately known by the locals as the ‘Manders, are a force to be reckon with…sorta. Anyhoo the plan was to carpool from some shady Cary bar called The 19th Hole Bar and Grill; leaving at 6:20. More than just a workout (Carpex Convergence)
Truth be told, YHC is feeling some pressure on this BB. But, in the words of a sage Carpex veteran: “Keep it vanilla and Q to the site.” - Carman Liuzzo, 57, Burt Wednesday, June 20th, will go down as an EPIC day in Carpex history. The menu looked like this: 0430 - 0500 HIMs launching for the 10.7 mile Maynard loop (14 by YHC’s count) 0505 HIMs launching for Insomnia, YHC on the route Q 0545 HIMs gather for SNS + Tortoises + Vesper convergence at Bond Park 0630 COT with 77 strong, followed by 2nd/3rd F fellowship and Chinese Downhill sharing this powerful and emotional story. The Bridge Side-to-Side Catch Me If You Can Exercise?
Rollcall on Insta: Video Here Beatdown on Strava: https://www.strava.com/activities/1648034732 YHC’s first time running in to an AO. New (temporary) living quarters put me about 1.5 miles away from FWD. Upon arriving at the parking lot a car was already there and the pax was missing. A few minutes later Chipper runs out of the shadows and explains he had a little insomnia so he decided to EC run 3 miles. Whatever floats your boat I guess. Beware of the Stink B.O.M.B.S.
Joining Carpex, my first post was Dante’s Peak. That following Monday Grinch took me to Wolverine. So it was only fitting that I reached out to him to see if he was ready to come off the Injured Reserve List to be part of my first Q at Wolverine. He was! Welcome Back Grinch. And thanks to Hi-Liter for bringing breakfast this morning to celebrate the lightest day of the year. [Read More]
How not to make friends, by FNG Cataracts (that's plural)
The day before my Q at Hell’s Bells I asked the site Qs if running was discouraged. Neither Monkey Nut or Earhart responded, so I naturally assumed that meant running was a great idea. It’s not. I was instantly berated with a verbal assault from the first step. However, sticking to my plan, the later runs actually became a nice break from the punishing kettle bell workout we were experiencing. Crimson even thanked me for running and volunteered to run more if that meant he didn’t have to pick up his KB again. [Read More]
Against the Wind
YHC asked about the Dante’s Peak mileage record last week. An innocent question, and not expected to turn into a thing. But since Sooey had the Q the week before me, he took it as a challenge and ran us 3.3 miles. Now it’s up to YHC to top that. Let’s see how we did. Warm-Up Mosey over to end of the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops, hillbillies, copperhead squats, planks jacks and copperhead merkins. [Read More]
They lock the baseball fields when it rains
It was your typical Wednesday Morning Buffet. Several arrived early for a little Insomnia appetizer. The Ruckers and the Vespers all grabbed their food to go, and the rest of the SNS crowd dined heavily on Turkish Get Ups, Bropees and Absolution. With some Twerkins for dessert. And although we didn’t start with a Good Morning (sorry Nature Boy) we did end with a Have a Nice day. And a new word was created. [Read More]
