Schwetty

There was a disturbing abundance of sleeves at the skate park this morning. Warm-Up Mosey over to the Town of Apex parking lot and circle up for hillbillies, daisy pickers, arm circles, copperhead merkins, copperhead squats and burpees (one for each untanked pax). The Thang Mosey over to parking lot behind the building with the stairs on the sides. 5 hand release merkins, 5 squats, 5 LBCs and trip up and down the stairs. [Read More]

Mexican Slayride*

It snuck up on me, but my 6-year anniversary of my first post is 6/15. I first posted at A-Team, at the urging of Hotspot, way back in 2015. You know he can be convincing… Crazy busy schedule these last few days, with 2.0 Zip Drive wrapping up his high school career, and all the celebrations that signal the end of one phase, and the beginning of another. But I saw that A-Team was Q-less, and, even with all the crazy in my life right now, could NOT pass up a chance to see if I could pull off another themed Q there. [Read More]

A Plan Comes Together

AO: A-Team Workout Date: 06/07/21 After Slippery When Wet on Friday, I verified with site Q Henny Penny that A-Team was, indeed, a standard boot camp. The A-Team was one of my favorite television shows when I was growing up. I really wanted to have some inspired routines for this. The first one came pretty easily, Burpee-American Hammer Elevens for the A-Team’s master mechanic, B. A. Baracus. Solid! What exercises could I come up for Hannibal, Faceman, and Howlin’ Mad Murdock? Chipper knows his Western PA lingo!

Fabulous morning with fantastic dudes at SWW! Including FNG Todd, brought out by Full House – nice! He showed up in full sweat pants & sweat shirt – those did not last long! More on him later…. here’s what went down…. Good crowd gathered & EC group rolled in off the greenway – 22 was the count. Started with the pledge & a mosey around the big loop to warm up in the shelter – Good morning, windmills, fazios +, merkins, mtn climbers, etc. [Read More]

More miles please?

With the weather being a pleasant 48f this AM, 17 of Carpex’s finest came out in the gloom. Some appeared eager and did an EC, others didn’t. I am not one to judge, rather my purpose this morning was to Q. Let’s do this. Starting with: Pledge of allegiance Mozy to parking lot for warmups consisting of: Good mornings Seal claps Overhead claps Sir fazio arm circles Side stradle hops Mozy to top of trail path Thang 1: 7’s Plank Jacks & Sumo Squats Mozy past lake to parking lot [Read More]

Don't call Bulgarian Splits Squats with Steaks in the house....

You’ll have to keep reading to find out why the title is what it is! Good news for you is that this will be a quick read! A thin crowd was coming together for F3 as the FIA ladies collected – they outnumbered us by 3 or 4X! I guess the spring break excuse only applies to the men of F3…. ’nouf said. 6 men started the session with our mission & the pledge. [Read More]

A-Team GBBs!

Super excited to Q at A-Team this morning – it’s one of my favorite sites and is always loaded with High Impact Men. Speaking of HIM, @petsounds was there! So great to see him back in the gloom! Bootcamp-wise, I felt like trying something new – here’s what went down…. 15 total pax, 9 bootcampers, the remainers bruising/walking + 4 legged Manny! Pledge of course! Then mosey straight into the park to the top of the powerline hill for warm-up: good morning, windmill, hill-billy, mtn climbers, merkins, etc. [Read More]

New Home

This was the second of two ’late commit’ Qs by YHC on Sunday night, and for an easy reason. Good chance this could have been 3 scoop Qs, but I didn’t want to grab a Wednesday to leave that open for a Maynard or a Cleaver (which I proceeded to FS through anyways). Point Break was open, and the FWD-PB-SWW combo would have felt appropriate given upcoming circumstances. More on that in the NMS. [Read More]

The Name Game (and Gerald Owens)

It’s been a loooong time since YHC has been to FWD. Wonder if anything has changed? YHC got out of the car and could hear Hermes squeaky, but booming voice, telling dad bad jokes. Nope, nothing has changed. After a lengthy disclaimer orated by YHC, the eleven of us were off on a warm-up run that included the FWD baby gherkin pickle and continued to the parking lot where we used to do Monkey Humpers in front of the Crossfit place. The Push

Goal: To Push Everybody Monday of Carpex Respect Week I had never Q’d a running workout, so this was a test for me. All of my other Q’s were at Tortoises or Hells Bells or Tin2Iron - all low to no running AOs. Not known as a runner, this would be a challenge to me. So I put together a few pearls on a string to get more than a mile in. [Read More]
