It's 11s All the Way Down...and Up

I can neither confirm nor deny whether the site-Qs or colluding Russian hackers deleted the Flying Circus Q sheet and all Qs in queue, but Hotspot’s weekly Q-shopping sheet had a glaring hole for the finest AO in NW Cary on a Thursday. A hole that remained unfilled as of last night. Since the best way to fill future Q spots is to mercilessly beat down the PAX week after week until they cry out in unison for relief, like a dishonest judge finally providing justice to a relentless, hectoring widow, I decided to Q the FC a second week in a row. My name is Nature Boy - I only Q every 14 months so plan on me again for end of May 2019. Consequently I don't know how to post backblasts and I think other people should do it for me.

F3 Nature Boy Qing 3 April 2018 Tuesday This Fine Tuesday morning started hellos all around. Kilmer showed for NB Q 2.5. Nature Boy 1 as we all remember found us running around the baseball Fields at Thomas Brooks park and my Fine friend Kilmer headed home early not being in the running mood. I guess 😎😜. With Highlighter running to his car to grab a weight vest so Beanner not be the solo rucker we pledged to two flags. [Read More]

Back Home Again

Thanks to the wizardry of @hotspot and his weekly Q summaries, I noticed that my beloved FOD had no Q for the week. Having just come off the TR run, it was time to get back on the Q wagon, and here was the perfect opportunity. Let’s see what Ma Bell dialed up on 3/27/18 First, @pbx and @skyblue and YHC ran in per our usual route, arriving in time for the customary fist bumps and pre-workout mumble chatter. [Read More]

APFT

While listening to the radio recently, I heard a story about the remedial fitness training for new Army recruits. Apparently, modern American culture doesn’t lend itself to producing citizens that meet the Army’s standards - a lot to unpack there. As is the case with most things, I blame millenials. Think about it seriously, though. Pre-WWII, your average Army recruit probably worked A) on a farm or B) in manual labor and I’m pretty sure spent less than 30 minutes a week on screen time in its various iterations. Half Dora, Full Beast

Warm-Up Mosey down to the track and circle up for side straddle hops, hillbillies, Sir Fazios and good mornings. The Thang Check the football field, it’s way too soggy, so move over to the track and line up for the Beast. Six merkins at the end zone, six more at the twenty, six more at the forty, six more at the other forty, six more at the other twenty, six more at the other end zone. [Read More]

Respect at the Circus

16 PAX were warmle welcomed to what is rapidly being acknowledged as the finest Thursday AO in Northwest Cary. “Damn that’s a nice shovel flag!” Fine, fine weather. Goose dropped his gloves in the driveway back at the house…thanks Biner for saving me! YHC with the Q: (Proper) Warm-Up Lap around the parking lot and to the top of the steps to the track SSH, Imperial Walkers, Hill Billys, King David Kicks, Windmill, Slow Count Merkins, Slow Count Squats [Read More]

BOMBS Away at the Flying Circus

It’s Spring Break, so YHC decided to go a bit down range this week. I had never ventured out to the Carpex-Churham DMZ to visit Flying Circus, so I figured why not make my first post a Q (and there looked to be plenty of fun features to use at FC). Eight PAX initially gathered in the parking lot, many questioning our life choices with temperatures dropping back in the 20s. [Read More]

Some Things Never Change

Prologue: extensive interviews took place with several OGs of Carpex to obtain information for the following epic story of Danger Zone. The history of the Danger Zone, the original Area of Operation in Carpex, runs deeeeeep. As fate, or faith, would have it…..the location for the greatest AO in the U.S.A was obvious. [There were a couple of other trials at other Cary locations: Walnut Street Park and Kids Together Park (site of current FWD), but North Cary Park ultimately was selected]. [Read More]
