A little bit of VENOM

Date: 8/24/2020 QIC: Bartman YHC was happy to grab a Q spot at Hell’s Bells, and even happier to stumble upon some inspiration for the workout on the facetubes. F3 Little Spoon posted a quick “while your M is off doing top secret bond girl stuff” workout, and while clearly his lifestyle is not typical suburbia, it sounded like a good “while your M is yelling at the kids to get out of bed” material. Happy July 6, comrades!

YHC rolled up to Hell’s Bells on Monday, a little surprised to see a full parking lot and a half-dozen PAX already at it. It turns out I had not missed the start time, it was just the ECP crowd getting things done. Excellent. This past few months while I’ve been unable to run and having no access to the gym to do some weight training, I’ve taken up kettlebells as a standard workout. [Read More]

Climb to 40" - VQ for Mama's Boy

Pre-pledge: Nature called for Snots. Fortunately, he brought a roll of TP. Mama’s Boy shared a silly song on being stranded without TP, and also the proper technique for disposing of waste if one finds himself high up on mountain rock with nowhere to dig: either pack it out or smear thinly. Leave no PAX behind - same with turds in the alpine. Pledge, then mosey to lot 1 for the first thang: - good mornings, arm circles, windmills, plank, merkins [Read More]

I couldn't think of a good title

YHC signed up to Q this morning to ensure accountability to show up after a few days of solid fartsacking. After a fiasco of finding parking, YHC ran up to where the flag should have been at 5:44. After a quick pledge, we split the strong group of 16 between YHC and Earhart. This is what the Sooey Crew accomplished. No Squats, No Booty???

Apparently this is a thing? When Carpex was set to re-open for business this week, YHC figured he better get on the Q sheet this week. What better AO than Dazed and Confused? Then we realized that the gates remain locked at Apex High School so the decision was made to move to the site of A-Team right down the road. Where YHC Qed on Monday. Hey, at least it was fresh in the mind! [Read More]

Hell's Bells Baseball

Inspiration for this workout came from the exicon. Wahoo once said that F3 is like recess, and I really enjoyed the competitive nature of F3 baseball. I really wanted something that would keep our heart rate up, but allow bruisers to participate. When Water Wings and Disco Duck requested a 7th inning stretch, I knew this was a good workout. Started with a quick 1/4 mile mosey and then moved into Warm Up [Read More]

Musical Monday with Hanson, Ep. 1

A few weeks back YHC was bemoaning the fact that we have an AO named Hells Bells but rarely have any music. Then I had a revelation. The Q picks the soundtrack. Also, I had been planning to Q more this year. Thus the PAX were stuck with YHC for 45 minutes this beautiful Monday morning. YHC arrived around 4:50 and hit the pull up bars while Revere and Mohawk went for a run. [Read More]

Curing a Case of the Mondays

YHC was reminiscing a bit with some of the PAX who were around for the launch of the AO known as Hell’s Bells. Back in the day when this site was just barely beyond a twinkle in the eyes of Earhart & Monkey Nut, there were times when the site Qs posted only to do a 2 man workout. Back in the glory days when the gates at Apex Nature Park always opened well before 0530. [Read More]

Burpees, Bears, and Blocks! Oh my!

For my VQ, I thought it best to combine some of my least and therefore most memorable workouts over my last six months in F3. The two Q’s who I got the most from was Banjo and Wahoo. These two Q’s provided the inspiration for burpees and blocks. In order to increase the alliteration in the title of the workout, I did some digging in the Exicon to find an exercise that combined bear crawls and cinder blocks. [Read More]
