Balls, Balls, Balls, and Towels

The Back Story Now that I have my first Q under my belt and celebrated my birthday taboot, it was time to commemorate three years of me being a part of this great thing we call Carpex. Three years ago, Sosa’s diligence in EH’ing me for months (seriously) finally paid off and I showed up to Thomas Brooks Park for my first post. Red Ryder was the Q that day at Field of Dreams. The Sincerest Form

A bunch of Apex dudes invaded South Cary looking for a beatin'. Warm-Up Mosey around t the back lot and circle up for counting off 1s and 2s. One group does AMRAP warm-up exercises while the other group runs around the balls. Watch out, they get really tight at the end. Imperial walkers, arm circles, mountain climbers and good mornings. The Thang Mosey over to The Bridge for my version of 7-11s. [Read More]

A Tour of Downtown Cary

It was a lovely, cool, sunny morning in the heart of Cary. So cool that HGTV flirted with the idea of long sleeves…on tank top Thursday. The cheek! A stern look from Burt brought him to heel. Burt’s briefcase of tanks was almost not needed, but alas, a rucker and a Raleigh guy needed the dressing room. The Q was delayed 30 seconds as Boucher put on a fashion show. YHC mumbled something about “This is F3, don’t get hurt” and we did the Pledge of Allegiance. Out of Order

17 PAX trickled into Marla Dorrell park through the thick and chunky atmosphere to join YHC for some exercise this morning. Here’s what we did! Gather at the flag for disclaimer and the F3 mission… and follow me. No FNG check, because everyone looks at least vaguely familiar. Into the park we go… Warmup at the inner lot (8cGM, SSH, SM, IW) and follow me into the playground for a micro-Dora with a partner (50x Merkins, Squats, LBCs). [Read More]

It Was My Understanding

AO: Slippery When Wet Workout Date: 06/04/21 I really prefer to post a new AO before Qing, but it doesn’t always happen. In these cases I perform due diligence, verifying the workout format and scoping out the AO on Google Maps. According to the F3 Carpex website, Slippery When Wet is a standard boot camp. Warm Up: Give the mission statement, check for FNGs (1), give the disclaimer, and warm up: [Read More]

Conquering the Beast

Serious storms overnight, but a gap in the rain from 530 to 7 made for a great morning to workout. For my 6th anniversary, 6x6x6 (or the Beast) seemed appropriate, but I wanted to mix it up. We made 36 stops throughout Down Town Cary, and performed series’ of 6 exercises at each (sometimes throwing in 2 exercises at the stops) If you want to know what we did (sort of), see the image. Flirtin' With High Tempo

AO: Flirtin’ With Disaster Workout Date: 06/01/21 YHC was looking to mix things up with a set of Number of the Beast (lifted from Jimmer’s Ambassador Q), but I couldn’t find a good area with six clearly defined stations. I did check out the shopping center parking lot on my prerun, but ultimately I couldn’t get over how well the Flirtin’ With Disaster parking lot was set up for 7-11s. [Read More]
