Not Welcome Here

17 PAX gather in the brisk cool morning for a traveling Earhart workout. Good too see a mix of Apex and West Cary HIM to help YHC through a new workout in a new location. Gather the PAX at the flag for a pledge then start with walking down the path, high knees and butt kickers; with advancing age trying to start out a workout with a little warm for the warm. Rain? What rain?

Even though YHC and the shield lock had already done a couple miles EC run and were fully soaked, it seemed like a waste not to use the parking garage the AO provides for some cover from the elements. So that’s where we headed. Here’s what all went down: Warmup: No FNGs so I stumbled through the mission statement because it was being recorded for our Q of Culture and then recited the pledge before heading off to the parking garage on the other side of the school. BLIMPS!!!

On Monday this week, Slim Shady made me a deal that if I Qed Lion’s Den, he would go ahead and get on the Q sheet for Wild Wild West. So here we are. I had thought about just running back last week’s Back In Black Q, but that seemed like cheating and then the M decided last night was a good time to take down the Christmas decorations, so I never did get a chance to put the thought I wanted to into the plan, but BLIMPS was close enough to last week so there it was. Last day of 2020...

So today is December 31st, so naturally the last day of the year 2020. What a year it’s been, to say the least. I figured what better way to Q the first workout of the last day of 2020 than to use it as a theme. I decided to do 20 reps of 20 exercises in a 4 corners situation. Here’s what we did: Warmup: YHC and 7 Pax at the flag (almost) at 0515 on an extra gloomy day. [Read More]

12 Days of Schlitz-mas part deux

YHC had wanted to Q his home site at some point in the next few weeks. After 15 miles at Oakwood 24 over the weekend I was only 4 miles short of 1000 miles for the year. I didn’t want to leave it to chance so I jumped on the Q sheet to make sure I got enough mileage to hit 1k. Well, it’s Christmas week so why not pull back out last year’s FMJ 12 Days of Christmas. Is it Gran Torino or Grand Torino?

So admittedly in my mind I always think Gran Torino is Grand Torino. I have no idea why? Perhaps just a by-product of a quality PA public school education? Anyway, the quest to complete as much of the Carpex challenge as possible continued this morning at GT. While YHC has been battling an injury as of late, the doc said I couldn’t do anymore damage and I started out the week with a few 5 mile days, so why not just grab that open GT Q spot for another box checked. Disclaimer: We Won't Run.

YHC hadn’t posted since Hot for Teacher last week as I was dealing with a bum ankle, so when coming up with a plan for this morning, I thought it’d be a good idea to limit the running and just hit upper body hard. I announced to the group how unprofessional I am and made a disclaimer that we wouldn’t be doing a lot of running. I quickly realized in the first mosey that the ankle was feeling pretty darn good so I changed my plans on the fly and incorporated the worst hill I could find. [Read More]

Kettle What???

The Carpex challenge tour continues as YHC takes the Q at the premiere (only) Carpex Kettlebell workout! Admittedly, YHC is not typically a KB guy, but as previously stated, Carpex challenge. I have a friend that posts some KB workouts on the book of face so I was going to steal one of her workouts, until I tried to do the first set of exercises and realized my bell was too heavy and I would die if I attempted that. Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration 2020

8 Pax showed up at a very foggy Wild Wild West (that YHC completely expected to be Wet and Wild) on this 2nd Monday in October . Respectfully 1 decided to distance himself due to a wild weekend of debauchery (TYFYL). The other 7 mosey around the front of the school and back to the basketball court… Warm Up 5 Good Mornings 40 SSH 30 Imperial Walkers 20 Sir Fazio F bigger R Bigger [Read More]

Vanilla or Spicy?

That was the question leading into this Q. Was this going to a plain vanilla standard bootcamp or will I think of something spicy to throw at the Pax. Let’s wait to answer this at the end. FNG was present so standard disclaimer given to also include social distancing and avoidance of fist bumps. And we’re off. Mosey up the hill and over to the basketball court for warmups. Also included the first 5 reps of Jack Webb. [Read More]
