Race Ya!

23 of the finest pax in all of Carpex-sub-region-Apex-Wednesday-bootcamper-regulars gathered in the gloom this morning for a non preblasted beatdown by YHC. Pax pulled in with minutes to spare, EC runners caught their breath, and has 0530 hit we dished out the disclaimer, raised our hands to our hearts for our country, set our Stravas, and took off towards the school. A long lap around the Bus Carpool loop and to the church courtyard for warmup: [Read More]

Who ordered the vanilla cone?

As one of the site Q’s of this AO and a huge kettlebell advocate for working out, I took my time in coming up with a somewhat complex workout for today. Mumblechatter was high today as the Pax were trying to learn many new exercises introduced for the first time today. Let’s get started! Warm-up- Mosey around the pickle and circle up for some extremely slow Good Mornings, SSH’s, seal claps, and calf stretches. [Read More]

Run Out of Ideas? Just call Merkins

Preamble Disco Duck put out the challenge on Thursday. “Who’s man enough to Q The Green Mile?” Well hell, being RESPECT Week and all, I can’t ignore something like that. So sign up I did. With the Nation converging in Pinehurst, I started crootin’. Got a couple of nibbles on Slack and lo and behold, 9 of us showed up for Carpex’ premier 90 minute AO on a Saturday morning (notwithstanding Whiplash which is not actually in Carpex - unless Shutty has declared Imminent Domain on that bitch. A Squatty Party

15 HIM of which 18 were Steve’s ( SixteenSteves + Ryder + Cataracts) were ready to move and warm-up. YHC has been dealing with some shoulder problems and needed to keep this Q below the pits. Having primed the Pax with the upcoming “Leg Day” pre-blast I needed to deliver. Ryder called it a traveling warm-up, I called it “keep yo ass moving” as we lapped a quick run out of the parking lot and around just to get everyone moving. [Read More]

Thank you for your service....

It may seem like a a cliche that we have heard constantly since 9/11. Some think it’s overused, some people don’t even think twice about it, but to some, this thank you does have value. It has meaning. It is recognition of a young person’s decision to step up into the unknown, to see if they have what it takes to serve in the armed forces. There are many sacrafices made by our young men and woman that have made the decisions to step up and serve. [Read More]

Farewell Q

This will be YHC’s 5th BackBlast written in the last 2 weeks. I’m beginning to understand now why some PAX are not a fan of writing them or choose to routinely skip writing them. YHC, Schlitz, and Joe Smith showed up early to get over 3 miles of EC in. It was Schlitz that also pointed out a used DNA Cocoon on the grounds of SWW. Warm Up No FNGs, disclaimer (sort of), pledge. Sprained Ankles and Lost Panties

Nekkid’ Mole Skin: The title of this BB was going to be Water Boarded (thanks to @shutincarpex), but didn’t quite have that oomph to it. You see, after the workout this morning at Kryptonite (which by the way one of the PAX called this workout the best ever at Kryptonite), as we were 2nd F’in at #Trunkaterria (thanks Wonderbread!), we were discussing how Schlitz fell down during the lateral shuffle Pyramid Gassers, then Schlitz told us this story of why his ankle is a bit unstable: Schlitz says that he and his M were on vacation…Aruba or somewhere like that…. Wow 2 yrs!

So for my 2 year anniversary I decided to take a different path than what I had originally planned. No grand theme, no week long pre blast with silly photo shops. Just show up with the pax and put together a nice little bootcamp. 10 of us gathered for the first sub 40 degree morning to date. I’ll be honest, I was a little cold. Get started with the pledge, but no disclaimer, eventually I’ll get this Q stuff straight. [Read More]

November 1

19 Pax showed up to the POGL newest Friday AO. No FNG’s this morning and no time to waste so let’s get started. Quick mosey around the lower parking lot and circled up. SSH’s, good mornings, calf stretch, sir fazio, and goofballs were called. Now that we are warmed up let’s begin. Most of my Q’s have some sort of theme, so we are going to spell out November. Partner up. [Read More]

Wolverines at Wolverine

We are in the final two weeks before YHC moves out of Carpex and over to Raleigh and so I decided to Q as much as I could before I leave. Stop number 1 on the farewell tour was the darkest AO in all of Carpex and also an AO that YHC had only been to 2 previous times. My tiredness from just running the Tuna 200 Relay over the weekend, the darkness, my lack of familiarity with this AO, and trying to rest the legs keeping this more of a Limited Run style workout, led YHC to Q a little bit of a less organized beatdown.
