Rhyme For No Reason

4 HIM gathered, ’twas the break of dawn Bogo planted the flag in the lawn 2 more arrived, comin’ in hot Sabre was driving, the turn he forgot “Let’s do two laps ‘round that pickle, heck let’s make it three, I’m feelin’ fickle” Now time for a warmup, start from the top: GMs, windmills, Fazio, Straddle Hops. When what to my wondering eyes did appear? But a deck of cards, and a workout to fear. [Read More]

Back on the wagon....

Hard to believe - we are here- June 4, 2018 and YHC has not Q’d in 2018 (other than vesper). This from a guy that averaged close to 1x per week in 2017. Oh well, off the horse and here we go. Step 1 - on your 6 - Have a nice day. This was a not so subtle dig at the site Qs that moved their AO start time to 5:30. [Read More]

They lock the baseball fields when it rains

It was your typical Wednesday Morning Buffet. Several arrived early for a little Insomnia appetizer. The Ruckers and the Vespers all grabbed their food to go, and the rest of the SNS crowd dined heavily on Turkish Get Ups, Bropees and Absolution. With some Twerkins for dessert. And although we didn’t start with a Good Morning (sorry Nature Boy) we did end with a Have a Nice day. And a new word was created. [Read More]

Tank tops and merit badges

I was the Scout Master for Thursday’s Scout Week themed workout. As we do, we started out with the pledge of allegiance. Then we mosey to the bank for some: SSH IC Good Mornings IC Sir Fiazo Arm Circles , forward and reverse IC Merkins, on my down, holding for a 10 count after each set of 5 Warm-up complete, we run over to the pocket park behind Page-Walker where we start working on our first merit badge, Animal Science! Do Your Best!

YHC was serving as Senior Patrol Leader today. As with F3, Scouts is a volunteer organization. Specifically, Boy Scouts is led by youth, giving them their first taste at organization, service, leadership, and sometimes humility. Today was a lesson in all four for YHC. It felt like herding cats to get the group to start moving, not unlike any Scouting activity. Trouble was finding four volunteers to serve as Patrol Leaders. Slippery When Wet

YHC pulled into the parking lot of North Cary Park a little early this morning, and thought about how Danger Zone is the only AO in Carpex that never has an EC pre-run. As that thought entered my mind, I saw Pet Sounds heading out for a solo warm-up run. Warm-Up Mosey around the pickle and circle up for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios, cotton pickers and side straddle hops. The Thang [Read More]

Warning: Cloudy with a chance of Sharknado

In the great tradition of the original Bounty Hunters site Q Water Wings, YHC wanted to continue the benchmark day fitness challenge. In an effort to save a little gas in the tank for the main event, we relocated the historical fitness test location of Baucom Elementary School over to Apex Town Hall courtyard across the street from the skate park. It was October of 2016 at Field of Dreams when YHC (and Carpex, I think…) was first introduced to the Sharknado. [Read More]

The Gloom is Gone

I was looking forward to navigating Carpex’s gloomiest AO, but alas, we had 70° at 5:30, a light breeze, and an early sunrise that I suppose we need to get used to! After walking the course down, some quick stretching to the tunes of Hi-Liter’s youth, and a fruitless FNG check, we disclaimed and set out down Park Village Dr. Pause at the clubhouse for: GM // Merkins IC // IW [Read More]

You never forget your first time

…that’s kind of true, but when in doubt just reference the backblast. On May 10th, 2017 a dude named Dice showed up to SNS on the invite of his buddy Jamie. It was weird because all the guys were calling him “Repeato,” never the less, on a brisk (to me at the time) 54 degree morning I logged my first Carpex beatdown at the hands of a one “Earhart.” Hello Kitty was born and I’ve mildly gravitated to F3 activities… [Read More]

AND Back in the Saddle

Whew, it’s been a while! YHC did have one random Hells Bells Q during my extended stay on the IR but today’s Q definitely puts me back in the saddle. There was a great crowd of 17 pax to welcome YHC back in and a nice cool breeze ta boot. Back in January listening to the F3 podcast it was suggested that all of our workouts start with the disclaimer. Everytime. [Read More]
