It's called Winterfell for a reason!

Super frosty & icy morning in the Far Northeast Kingdom of CARPEX! Maybe it was the cold, maybe it was the over eating attributed to the Super Bowl, maybe it was the over drinking (SB)….. not really sure but the mumble chatter was high & the mosey was slow this fine morning. Here’s how it went down according to my recollection. No FNGs, start with the pledge, mosey back along school to the back where the buses are – painted some lines than circled up for some warm-up: [Read More]

El KryptoFell (Meadow)

Sometimes it’s just important to get a BB together to celebrate the fact that the most miles and greatest elevation covered at ANY AO on Monday, the First Day of February, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty one was at Winterfell. Thirteen studs crushed >3,5 miles and >250 ft of gain. They are all recruit-ready for BRR 2021. Enjoyed it fellas. Not much talking up that little incline this morning. [Read More]

That's Ten Enough

We had 18 PAX gather this morning at Tortoises to celebrate my 4 year F3 anniversary. I’m not sure if many of them were there to support me or if it was the fact that is was pouring rain yesterday and its going to be chilly with light snow tomorrow. 45 degrees with heavy mumblechatter. With 5:30 approaching, we started with the Pledge. Its a great way to start the day, and an even better way to get everyones attention. [Read More]

Three

YHC celebrates Three Years with F3 today. I had to Q, and Tortoises - where I used to be site Q - was the perfect place for it. My pre-blast promised Threes, Burpees, Merkins, and Music. We accomplished that. Left Cheek and I pulled up at the same time. I hadn’t met him before, but I could tell immediately that he is a HIM. We talked for a few minutes, then I ECP-ed some pullups to get rid of energy before the rest of the PAX showed up. [Read More]

1 new AO; 8 new PAX

This is what I love about our growing region. Today I went to Winterfell for the first time (which by the way is a great AO. Well done Rooney) and met 8 new PAX. Carpex is a big beautiful world, if you’re not traveling around to different sites and meeting these new guys you’re missing out. YHC, One Direction, Cosmo, Houdini, Nope, Scapula and My Little Pony for the EC Army PT Test. [Read More]

Music Delete

The best plans often go astray. Today was a lesson in adapting to a failure in my pre-blast: I planned Music, Merkins, and Mumblechatter. Good on two of those. A recent Andriod 11 update rendered my usual music playing app useless. In hindsight I should have tested this the night before. Lesson learned. The PAX were disappointed by the silence. I tried to figure out how to stretch the workout because I planned a nice, new thang to a song. [Read More]

Runner's Arms Fixed Here

Sick and tired of being made fun of by Flip Flop, a few runners took a break from The Maynard to work on some other muscles. However, runner or not, today’s workout pushed everyone a little out of their comfort zone **Warm-Up **Circle up for some Good Mornings, Windmills, Steve Earles, Arm Circles **Thang One **With everyone standing in a circle I called out exercises to be completed for 1 minute OYO (w/30-second recovery), except for those standing in front of the fun toys I brought. Hills and Rock Music

Well, another great day with the Bounty Hunters is in the books! YHC made sure to get there early, as I had to set up for an elaborate plan I had working for the latter half of the beatdown. More on that later. Back at the starting point, the 4 pax doing the Apex Hill runs were already long gone, which brought the Pax number for the bootcamp to 11! Confirming there were no FNGs, we did the Pledge, and then we were off and running down Hunter St! [Read More]

Winter can't come soon enough

I know I’ll be complaining about it come next January but daaaaaamn it was hot and humid and sticky and absolutely bereft of wind this morning. WARNING: If you are coming out to Winterfell and following Google, make sure it takes you to the North entrance. Or, if you decide to take the ‘short cut’ and find the gate closed, make sure the head administrator at Alston is not there to witness you going ‘round the game over the grass. [Read More]

Vanilla

YHC picked up the Q slot for Bounty Hunters and did not have much of a plan so let’s just roll with the basics. A solid group of 9, no wait 10 PAX were off at 5:30 sharp towards Thales. Side note: Frisco first posted at BH in May 2018. YHC had a HC that Frisco was going to attend this morning so a repeat of his first day at Carpex was planned over at Thales. [Read More]
