Get Off My Lawn

Because it’s was my birthday Q and I’m old and that’s what PBX tells me I sound like. Anyways, arrived early to scout out the AO to find about 15 HIM already working the ECP. By 5:30 21 PAX were ready to go and Crimson had already started complaining. He knew what was to come. Warm Up • Good Mornings x 10 • SSH x 53 Thang 1 Split into 5 groups. [Read More]

11 x 2 = 22

Second Q ever for YHC was to the point with some room for improvement. Cadence counts are getting better and everyone had fun… I think. It was quiet, not much in the way of mumble chatter for this beatdown. Thanks to the 18 that showed for the track work and 22’s. It was a beatdown and according to GTL possibly a new record for distance with the 3.5 miles we racked up. [Read More]

Advertising works!

YHC has been out of Carpex for the past few days exploring F3 out west in St. Louis and was really looking forward to being back home. Since there isn’t much to do outside of work when traveling YHC was advertising the upcoming beat down all week on slack. And let’s just say that the adverting brought out the numbers - 32 PAX joined my in south Carpex on this fine Friday morning. [Read More]

High and Tight

Lots of EC going on at Tortoises this morning, three PAX for a fellowship lap around beautiful downtown Apex, multiple other PAX for all or part of EC pull-ups. No Theismann to keep track of the total count, but Rooney was there and he brought Def Leppard with him. PAX were warned that today’s workout would be no running, and any running would be met with bonus burpees. Warm-Up Brisk walk to the flag for the Pledge, then brisk walk to the front of the church and circle up for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios, standard merkins (on my down), hold it, mountain climbers, hold it, standard merkins (on my down), hold it, plank jacks, hold it, standard merkins (on my down AND on my up) and hill billies. Fire-ant Bombs

There weren’t Fire-ant Bombs, but there were fire-ants and there were B.O.M.B.S. 14 of the finest Carpex PAX gathered in the Wolverine gloom for a beatdown. Build-a-Bear, Biner, and PBX enjoyed a three-mile EC from Crema at least until they arrived on site and encountered the fire-ants. As 5:30 approached, PBX was still in battle with the fireants, three of our far west Cary PAX arrived kind of on time, and no FNGs were present. [Read More]

Team FOD

21 Pax dodged the rain and puddles to post at Field of Dreams this morning. YHC used to be a FOD regular. YHC even started the FOD Twitter handle, that’s how tight they were! Then more sites joined Tuesdays… Then a kitchen remodel relocated the family to far east borders of Cary… And just like that YHC’s regularity vanished… Franklin even sent his thugs, Nature Boy and Badlands to YHC’s house to repo his #TeamFOD shirt! Limited Run Does Not Mean Limited Merkins

Fresh off my first merlot induction at BO, YHC accepted the challenge to deliver a tough workout at the great AO, Tortoises. With little buzz and marketing, 20 other HIM wanted to see as well. Or maybe it was the EC Pull-Ups. Yeah, probably the ECPs. Also, there were another 5 who joined in for the traveling IR Bruisers AO for a total of 26. Add in the 3 young men shooting ball, and the place was poppin’! [Read More]

The BEST Stretch

Boots ta Boot

What a day, what a day! YHC grabbed the Q spot at DP and longing awaited the chance to head west for all 3 F’s with the Apex pax. With YHC’s alarm set for 0430, here goes. Arrive early for EC pull-ups with GTL, Theismann, Rooney and Frisco. Aeorsmith was there as well and Steve Tyler rocked us during our sets. Great work men. The rest of the reg-U-lars arrived and I’m looking at 30 pax for this beat down (has to be the most in Carpex today, right? [Read More]

Extreme Couponing

Following a night of unstable air and thunderstorms, 20 PAX descended upon Tortoises in the humid gloom for a 45 minutes of getting to know your coupon better. Allegiance was pledged, and we circled up. Warm Up Standard fare of SSHs, Cotton Pickers, Sir Fazio, Plank Jacks, Merkins on my down AND up. 10 burpees OYO to get the PAX attention. Thang 1 Lunge walk to the coupon pile. PAX take either a block or 2 cores each. [Read More]
