New Hampshire Sunrise

23 Pax for Shaken Not Stirred,4 Pax for Vesper, 5 Pax for Insomnia Q - Hermes, YHC Insomnia ran about 4.5 miles or so, I really don’t know exactly. I have no idea how far Vesper ran, but they did swing by New Hampshire and they were late for COT, I assume they covered at least 6.5 miles in the 46 minutes. SNS: Run down to trail to parking lot, circle up for some typical warm up: SSH, Sir Farzios, Hillbillies, Good Mornings [Read More]

Aristocrat Does Not Know Jack

Terrific late spring morning. Low 60s. Dew Point of 45. Couple of Shovel Flags planted. 21 of CarPex’s dudes came to Danger Zone to get stronger. At 5:35 there were only 2 cars in the lot…one of which was in my usual spot. Not a big deal since it was Tecumsah who is relatively new to Danger Zone, but not F3. He is a beast. At 5:45 20 dudes were ready to roll and then in rolled Marlboro. BO's Young Guns Exploring the Fountain

An unlucky 13 of F3 Carpex’s (mostly) young bucks today in downtown Cary. A lot of young guys out at BO today. Millennials must be responding to Riptide’s Snapagrams or Instachats or whatever he’s doing to promote the AO. YHC had been eyeing the new Downtown Cary Park and fountain as a workout spot for a while and it didn’t disappoint. First, ran to the library plaza for a standard F3 Carpex warmup. [Read More]

1,096 days

The temperature was perfect. The blue sky was bright with sunshine creeping over the treetops. YHC walked slowly toward the typical gathering spot, catching the bizarre yet strangely comforting sounds of MGMT blaring from someone’s car stereo. It was deja vu. -—- Three years ago on a Saturday around 7:58AM, I found myself questioning many of my recent life decisions while trying to vomit as quietly as possible into a pond so that no one else would see or hear me while they did this thing they called “Mary”. Getting ready for Speedo season

Fifteen PAX gathered in the ever-brightening gloom at Carpex’s oldest AO this morning. Based on his job gallivanting across Europe, YHC decided some extra core and lower body work was needed to get the PAX ready for the Speedos they will obviously be wearing at the beaches this summer in the European style. After some Burt mumble chatter about the Nan’tan’s lack of knowledge about Apalachicola oysters, the PAX set off on a customary opening jog around the pickle and a brief standard suite of warm up exercises along with 10 penalty burpees for a tardy Smoky. Vacation...Paincation, Shooter's Choice

For the PAX that thought they might squeeze in a leisurely extra workout or two before Memorial Day, there was no leisure to be found. It’s officially swimsuit season and YHC wanted the PAX in their best shape. If you’re wondering if the season has started due to warmer weather or the torrential downpours, yes. Regardless, there was enough of a break for 21 PAX, including one FNG, to receive a thorough beatdown [Read More]

Another Soggy Tuesday

Something about Tuesdays this year…wet has been the rule of thumb…At least when YHC has posted in the am rather than the ever popular PM Rush Hour. No matter though, as 20 hard cores were there when YHC showed to do some work. Some new faces taboot. The inflow continues and that is a good thing. Pet Sounds let YHC know it was time and with that we ran up the hill to the top parking lot on left. [Read More]

N-M-S, and Politics as Usual

NMS You may think YHC is suffering from the winner’s dilemma: coming off a glorious victory and having to immediately ante back up. He’s spent all his physical, mental, and emotional energy just having been the greatest ever. He bottled lightning, there is no way to follow that. The people want more, the game is on the line, but his knees are weak, palms sweaty, and he’s wondering what in the hell he has left to give. No Larry This Go Around

Shut In was afraid of what happened last time YHC led the horses at A-Team. The Pax tried some new exercises and were better for it…were they a bit creative? Sure. Edgy? Perhaps. Did you get to know your fellow man a bit better? You bet your damned ass….(hmmm, interesting choice of words). Anyhow, Shut In didn’t want any more of what could come but his worry was unwarranted. No sir, this day was not to feature Mary’s brother that lives in Key West, Larry. [Read More]

Might need a disclaimer before the backwards Billy Run....

So this was my 3rd F3 workout in 24 hrs and I was feeling a little tired but looking forward to Qing probably my favorite workout location. There are so many options and there is even a parking deck! WARM UP: SSH, Good Morning, Imperial Walkers, Plank Jacks, and Merkins. We added some high knees, butt kicks, and Frankenstein walks on the way to the Page Walker House. DORA 123: Partner up and then 100/200/300 – Box Jumps/Australian Pullups/LBCs while the other partner takes a lap around the parking lot. [Read More]
