1 Year of F3 Bliss

Rewind to 1 year back. YHC was a newish dad who had recently moved to Apex. Suddenly, my life looked very different than all that I had known. I found myself pouring so much into my family and our new home that I left little for my own personal growth and development. My physical fitness was suffering, my emotional health was suffering; and without a happy me, my family was suffering. Off Campus Work

A muggy Friday at the original Cary (before CarPex) AO. It was 77 with nearly 100% humidity. Site Q Large planted the flag and the men began to gather. Welcome Big Bird (my boy), Puck and Viking from 20 somethings from the ITB and as well as Kotter Billy. Great to have Billy back. Loom is also back in the rotation, too…which is awesome. 22 Pax. I decided to showcase a little different location this am…but heading off campus away from the dark trails of North Cary Park. [Read More]

Mamma Mia!

18 PAX were treated to a fine TTT at BO. Whether they knew it or not, they had gathered to help YHC start off his 43rd year on the big ball the right way. YHC spent some time last night thinking about how to include the maximum amount of suck into 45 minutes, and I think it paid off. All but the music, which was packed with pure 1975 gold. Except for that ELO song. [Read More]

Sneaky Hard in New Hampshire

16 of CarPex’s finest gathered in the gloom at Bond Park for SNS, deciding they wanted both a beat down and to be home before 7:30 AM. 360

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lldD6SVbBQc Yep, just got back from Colorado, as my team qualified to compete in the USA Ultimate Frisbee National Championships. My team hadn’t lost a game since 2014; an unparalleled feat, which resulted in two world championships and one national championship. So when we lost in the quarterfinals by one point, we were certainly disappointed. We ended up 5th in the nation, so not too shabby, but we already were planning our return to greatness, which is exactly 360 days from today. [Read More]

7/20/2017 Artsy Fartsy

16 PAX including a 2.0 - Bo Jackson working on his maiden 6 pack showed up for a YHC led workout. The warm-up: Jog to sea of booty (aka Copacabana Wave) new location and circle up for some warm up. Jog to sea of booty old location and warm up some more. Jog to some other odd art sculpture near the rail road tracks (aka Excelerator) for some more warm up. [Read More]

Where in the Hell is Dante's Peak?

I knew there would come a time when I would make the trek over to Apex Nature Boy Park. Home of Carpex’s quiet workout. Only been to DP once and was in trouble early on for being a little loud. 78 degrees, humid as hell, 32 33 Pax rolled in to have some fun, get stronger and learn that, as in life, workouts are best if not in a straight line. Bones-Bones-Bones-Bones Bones, Bones, Bones, Bones, Bones…

…Now tell me what ya gonna do, When it ain’t nowhere to run (haha, Shut-in reminded me of this Bone Thugs-n-Harmony song and I think I’ll start my next Q with this in the background) F3 started for me in Churham at The Falcon approximately two years ago, later spending 1 year as Co Site Q at Tobacco Road. After moving from Durham to Cary 1 year ago this month, I was past due for my first Carpex Q. [Read More]

PAXTRIOTIC 17-7-6 CLUSTER

Thank you BO Site Q/ Twitter Owner whoever you are for reminding me of my Q this am. I was well on my way to Cave Workout until I saw the tweet. Whew. Hating that I will miss the 1776 workout on the 4th (no, not really), I thought it would be fun to do a thematic workout this morning. I busted out the red-white-blue apron and wore it over my USA Tank. [Read More]
