Keep Your Eyes On The Road, Your Hands Upon The Wheel

It was a beautiful morning at Hells Bells during my first kettle bell Q. I know the guys at Wolverine miss my presence there the past few months, but I have really enjoyed mixing up workouts and incorporating kettle bells. Sub and Frisco arrived early for some ECP3. 12 dudes arrived, 5:30am hit on my wife’s watch, and we moseyed to the flag to Pledge our Allegiance, then… Warm-Up Moseyed the large pickle then circled up for: [Read More]

Colt 45

Figured this was a nice nod to the Marine Corps’ chosen sidearm, the Colt 1911 Marine CQBP M45-A1 .45 ACP Pistol . Here at Full Metal Jacket, we are used to close quarters, and we went into battle today. 2 hearty youth (@michelobcarpex and @sub)joined YHC for 3 extra credit laps around the Salem homestead. FYI, one lap is a little over 1.33miles if you’re looking for extra credit running in the future. [Read More]

Merkinpalooza

When you arrive at Tortoises early you have to join Theismann in ECPs. Spartan, MaBell, Red Ryder and Theismann were already knocking them out, so I did a couple sets with them. I had prepared music to last 52 minutes, so at 5:23am the mellow piano of Floyd Cramer (playlist is below) greeted the 29 PAX as they stumbled in from the gloom. At 5:30 we moseyed over to the front lot, circled up and did: [Read More]

Just Don't Re-name Me Tonya Harding

Anyone who as joined me on one of my Qs knows that if I do anything well it is that I expose the PAX to a few new exercises whether I make them up and tag them with a silly name (Drunken Snow-angel) or, as often is the case, dive deep into the Exicon to tap into the plethora of experience shared by F3 Nation. Today was no exception as I pulled out some of my favorites and added some of the lesser known as well. [Read More]

No Music - Plenty of Heavy Lifting

D YHC has been absent from posting due to family and travel. So it was good to get back into the swing of things with my second Q…..much appreciated Frisco…… We were 16 strong HIMS this morning. My apologies for not getting all 16 listed. There were tech difficulties with the video on my phone and I was not able to get everyone accounted for….as some may have thought YHC is not perfect [Read More]

1stF #6 of 7 BD & F3’versary Q-week: Technical difficulties and assumptions did not sway the beatdown - Plan B modification at its best

The morning was wonderful. I had my plan all ready to go so I was not worried. I arrived to Seymour Park early. I was ready so I got out of the car and started to stretch. Theismann shows up to do some EC pull-ups. I went with him for fellowship. I’m still bummed that I cannot do regular pull-ups … injuries suck!!! About fifteen minutes left to start Hotty Toddy shows up so I flapped jack with him and headed back to the flag to prepare. [Read More]
