Your mother was a hamster...

..and your father smelt of elderberries! Practice makes…better. So four days into this Q-stravaganza and YHC is still hanging on. Uncharted territory folks. Fortunately (for me) this came during Q swap week, so attendance has been maybe a little bit down in these other AOs compared to what it could be. (Read: less cats to herd). Whatever, I’ve enjoyed my time with all of you. Some of you were subjected to multiple days of YHC, and for that, I’m sorry. Wolverine Tour (or how we found our way out of the gloom)

Does anyone else sleep terribly before a Q, especially when it’s an AO VQ? YHC isn’t afraid to admit that he does. This time was no different. At least three times I woke up checking the clock, making sure I hadn’t overslept. Maybe it was just the fact that I hadn’t done much in the way of planning for this Q. After all, what’s there to plan for when you can’t see the nose in front of your face? [Read More]

Down Range at Dante’s

@mabellcarpex has encouraged all of us to get out of our comfort AO. So being the compliant guy that I am….after much consternation I took Beaker’s Q and hit the trail to the far reaches of Western Wake County….which is Dante’s Peak. Temperature in the high teens. No wind. Clear Q was hungover or perhaps even a little drunk from last evening. 6 dudes. One shovel flag. Warm Up Mosey down to the cul-de-sac SSH, Burt Jacks, Mountain climbers, GM’s, Fazio Arm Circles, Cotton Pickers. [Read More]

FC....Flying-Circus, or, Freezin' Cold?

This morning it was cold. No two ways about it – most definitely “brass-monkey weather” [Northern English colloquialism….Google it!]. We don’t worry too much about such minor discomforts at Flying Circus, so 11 of the strongest, bravest Unicorns ever found (in Northwest Cary on a Thursday morning) showed up raring to go at the premier AO (in Northwest Cary on a Thursday morning). This is roughly what we did…..starting at the Soccer pitches [Read More]

Trivia Tuesday

YHC made the journey to Thomas Brooks Park last week, the motivation being to make sure I remembered how to get there. Huzzah, as it turns out the pathway has been etched into my memory. Having signed up for the Q the following week (which would be this week, and more precisely, today), YHC wanted to make sure everything was still the same since the last time this particular journey had occurred. Perfect Form Burpee-cides

Apparently, all it takes to log some big numbers at an AO is to throw a gauntlet down on GroupMe…or the Twitters. But since I don’t tweet, or twit, someone must have helped spread the word. As I mentioned yesterday, one digital F3 communication format already overwhelms me. So, thanks ABB Kitty, Hi-Liter, Callahan, WKRP, and CI/6-pack/BurtLite/ChatEnforcer/Burt. That gentle buzz in my pocket that lets me know every three minutes that my job sucks relative to y’alls’ has become a welcome part of my day. Monday morning (super moon) lights

YHC had planned for a 45-minute DICE themed Q, because you know, my friends call me Dice. But, with the big reveal of the College Football Playoffs yesterday, YHC called an audible… OMAHA! As the Pax gathered in the gloom under the light of the Super Moon, YHC headed to the big field to plant the flag. YHC headed back to the Pax. Some mumble chatter under their belts the Pax were ready. [Read More]

Not Insane

11 of NW Cary’s finest HIM gathered on 11/30 at what is arguably the best NW Cary AO on a Thursday that ever existed. With all the hoopla over at BO, one would have thought the second coming was happening. I mean, there was surely a star to the east of us right over DTC. We are also pretty sure we heard a little drummer boy. Be that as it may, the 11 chaps left behind were just there to put in a day’s work before 0630. [Read More]

DD at FOD

Today was the first cold morning we’ve had that didn’t feel cold. It felt crisp. YHC didn’t question my decision to leave the fartsack for the gloom, I just enjoyed the time spent with my brothers. Warm-Up Take a lap around the parking lot and circle up for some side straddle hops, hill billies, cotton pickers, Sir Fazio arm circles, and since Nature Boy showed up late we did ten burpees.
