Field Trip

Field trip day at Carpex’s premier Friday AO in the 27513 zip code. Little chitty-chat among the PAX to start, “Holy shnikies it’s windy. Is that a tail wind, Coney?” A quick disclaimer to FNG Nick and we’re headed out of the park and on the road towards the Veterans’ Memorial, because YHC has a half a Mary coming up and needs some miles before a LONG run manana w/ @mabellcarpex. Mucho Chesto Merkin Mile

Wolverine’s starting time moves to 5:30 next week, and YHC was honored to Q the final 5:45 workout. It’s a special occasion, so I knew I had to bring something special. I pulled into the parking lot and the conditions were perfect. Dark, raining, not really cold but certainly not warm. Perfectly gloomy. Warm-Up Mosey over to the middle school parking lot and circle up for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios forward, Sir Fazios backwards, hill billies and cotton pickers, all x 15. [Read More]

JP's VVQ

After returning home from the Oak City Recovery Run Club block party on Tuesday night, I sat with the M watching the Bachelor Winter Games (because I suppose that’s more entertaining than the quadrennial actual winter games), looking at a map of Bond Park, and perusing the exicon and this fine F3 nation page. It was a 2 hour show. We are diehard Bachelor fans (cc: @AndrewPass and @AP013 on Twitter). [Read More]

Puttin the mpo in Up Tempo

On a delightfully warm, yet misty morning, 14 PAX rolled into the gloom hoping to check the Kryptonite box for what would be an easy Ma Bell workout (at least that’s what Hermes said). ‘Twas not to be. At 0530 - OK, 05:30:20 seconds. Come on fancy watch, catch a GPS signal already! - we rolled on. As per normal, #15 (I’ll let you guess who that was) came in on 2 wheels as we ran (at a pretty good clip, mind you) around the parking lot onto the greenway toward the lake and back around to the parking lot for [Read More]

15 PAX joined me this morning to celebrate my 1-year F3 Anniversary. One year ago, my good friend Crimson convinced me to be ready to go at 5:15 am for a workout on a cold January morning. When I arrived at Dante’s Peak, I was overwhelmed with new people with funny nicknames including our Q (which I eventually figured out was the leader) named Hotspot. I don’t remember what all we did that morning other than bear crawl the bridge at DP but I thought there was no way I’d be back much less lead a workout. [Read More]
