Studs are made of 2x4's

I must admit, I had several doubts about this morning. I returned from the other side of the world only a few days ago and am just now getting my circadian rhythm back to Eastern Daylight Time. My sleep has been off, and I haven’t been as energetic as usual. To top that off, in true F3 fashion, I did the F3 ENC CSAUP “The Sasquatch” in Greenville, NC on Saturday. A Best of in DC

Six months ago, when Crotch Rocket (certainly a name that does not comply with modern F3FNG naming standards) visited CARPEx EH’ing guys to help with Expansion efforts to DC, YHC thought “This will be fun!” and volunteered. Four months ago, when sitting in a hotel room in London at midnight talking with Major Payne about plans for The Capital region, YHC thought “This will be fun!” and reserved a bunch of twitter handles and web domains. Thank you for your high-tempo leadership or Not

Date: July 23, 2018 Weather: 71 degrees, humid, rain over night, heat lightening, dry (just like the bite). Yesterday morning I noticed that the Q for K-Nite was open. Saw this as an opportunity to lead and more importantly to write the three Back Blasts I owed the men before I Q’ed again. Wrapped them up yesterday and planned yet another vanilla workout. 16 Pax answered the bell for another in a long line of vanilla clusters. #mccantsweek - Day 6 - BLAZE OF GLORY

If you don’t have Bon Jovi playing right this minute. Stop reading. Queue it up. Crank it up. Crack one. I woke up this morning and I raised my weary head. I’m a devil on the run. Thrown out of school for bringing a six pack and two guns. Well they tell me I’m wanted, yeah, I’m a wanted. And when I’m shot down, I’ll be shot down in a MF blaze of glory. [Read More]

#mccantsweek Day 3 - Thanks, Khakis>crowd requests>ON YOUR LEFT

As we wrapped up COT at FMJ on Tuesday, I let the PAX know I’d be Q’ing SNS Wednesday, and invited to the beatdown. “What do you think McCants will come up with tomorrow, another MURPH?” said one. The PAX fell silent for a moment, pondering, praying, wondering whether they should just Vesper. Then an angelic, velvet smooth voice cut through the blissful peace: “I know exactly what McCants is going to do. Vanilla String of Pearls 7/13/18

YHC is nearing the mid-point of the July Tour De Carpex and saw a Q opening back where it all began at The Premier North Cary Friday AO. After staying up all night with the Boys at Flacco’s 2nd F, 24 got up with the Men to workout. Chhanticleer and Largemouth got in a 4.something EC run (note that both were not seen at Flacco’s the night before). I’m confident Term Paper would have been on time, but that HIM stepped up to pick up Capt. The Oregon Trail

Today we took a trip back to the Elementary School Library to play the classic computer game ‘Oregon Trail’ 16 of us decided to take on the challenge and travel west in search of a better life. We gathered in Independence, MO to warm up and decide if we should be a Farmer (Sprinkler and Cotton Pickers), a Banker (Good Mornings, I’m assuming a banker would say Good Morning), or a Carepenter (Merkins…there is no tie in, but merkins are always good). Welcome Back

YHC had planned out a nice little kettle bell workout for the Hell’s Bell PAX, but that plan was contingent on having enough kettle bells to go around. Looking around at 0529 it was clear we had just the right number of PAX, but less than the right number of kettle bells, so the original plan was scrapped and a new plan was hatched on the fly. Let’s get after it! [Read More]

Kicking off USA Birthday Week

As we come up on 241 years as a country, YHC felt it was appropriate to celebrate with a little victory lap. It’s a beautiful lake with wonderful scenery and a typically well maintained Apex trail running around it. The backblasts suggested A-Team hadn’t run a lap in quite some time (YHC found reference to one such effort in ‘16 led by a “McCants”) so here we go. Warm-up: this was sort of done on the run [Read More]
