11 x 2 = 22

Second Q ever for YHC was to the point with some room for improvement. Cadence counts are getting better and everyone had fun… I think. It was quiet, not much in the way of mumble chatter for this beatdown. Thanks to the 18 that showed for the track work and 22’s. It was a beatdown and according to GTL possibly a new record for distance with the 3.5 miles we racked up. [Read More]

F3-Its A Sickness

2 Years of F3. It’s a sickness that I just can’t seem to kick. One that has resulted in lack of sleep, frequent muscle aches, and lack of cell phone battery. I just can’t stop setting my alarm in anticipation of that brotherhood, the laughs, and personal growth. 2 years of F3 is something to be celebrated. What better way to celebrate than pain. Warm-up Welcome the Meow-Mile Pax Mosey over to the bank and circle up SSH IC X 25 GM IC X 10 Imperial Walker X 15 Standard Merkin mixture of slow cadence with normal cadence x 20 [Read More]

We was a runnnnning

Monday Morning. Little bitty stingy rain. 5:30 announcement. Introduced myself, gave the disclaimer and we are off. Headed down the path to the amphitheater, and a quick HALT. Place is a flooded. Nothing like 20 seconds in and calling an audible. Turn around and head out to the main road and take alternate path to the Theater. After dodging puddles, uneven ground, and no entry signs we made our way in front of the stage. Cherry on Top

YHC has driven past North Cary Park many times on the way to various destinations. However, this is the first post. Luckily Google maps gives some very detailed satellite photos of what is rumored to be the premiere site in Cary on Fridays. There is cluster-Q potential with this one, after YHC sees the collection of HIMs who have decided to post. Nineteen, in all. Warm Up Standard fare of SSHs, Cotton Pickers, Sir Fazio, BURPEES, Plank Jacks, and Merkins (and my down AND my UP). [Read More]

Everyone Remembers Their First Merlot

It had been a while. I mean, I have made my semi-regular appearances at BO this past year. but it had been a while since I’d Q’d there. It had been a while since I’d Q’d anywhere. So as I started to fill up the empty googly slots, it was fitting that YHC start at the birthplace of Ma Bell. Anyway, enough history. YHC was feeling like putting the hurt on some PAX today. We're not bringin' Sexy Back

Triple-Header

First off, YHC is grateful for being introduced to F3 by my man Flacco and to being so warmly received by each & every Carpex HIM I’ve encountered. I sure am enjoying my F1’s & actually look forward to collecting in the gloom & getting the sweat flowing with this fine group. I’ve been able to participate in a couple F2 & F3 events as well & will be active here – Someone said F3 is kind of like a cult, but I disagree – this is a high-quality fraternity with only the good attributes: make each other better (HIMs) via challenge & encouragement, serve to improve the communities we live in, & have some damn fun along the way. Brotherhood of Stone

Pre-warm up: Some of the HIMs gathered by the pull-up bars for some extra credit sets; good job! Warm-up: Good mornings, Hillbillys, and to everyone’s surprise, LBCs (good for later). There was a lot of mumble-chatter at this point and spirits were high. Everyone grabbed a cinder block or a couple of concrete cylinders and we moseyed with them to the lower hill for Thang 1. Thang 1: American Hammers with Coupons on top and Berkins (Block Merkins) on the bottom for 11s with block carrying sprints in between. [Read More]

Traffic Diversion at Rush Hour

Seeing a rare Q-spot opening for Rush Hour, YHC grabbed this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and immediately started preparing for little something different for the good folks of DTC. Of course, with only a handful of Rush Hour experiences under my belt, “something different” might not have been all that different but I was going to try! But first… Tiberius needs a ride. I’m in. A text message (3:31PM), a Slack message (4:06PM) and a phone call (4:12PM) later I’m really confirmed. [Read More]
