Three Years

I’ve been in F3 for almost as long as I’ve been a dad! That percentage of time will just keep growing, mehopes. Here’s a look back at the last three V-days with F3-JP: 2019 2018 2017 (best I could do. Raleigh’s only written 3 BBs this year, as an indication) FNG Check - Mission and Disclaimer - Follow Me! Simple plan today: Find the Black Creek Greenway and head north. We’ll stop along the way for decreasing sets of Merkins and Squats (with one set of LBCs in there while the Nan’tan confirmed that our 6 was actually bruising). [Read More]

Dang Near Purrfect Weather For The Duckman

February, sixty degrees, light rain, light wind, glorious conditions for a downtown Apex beatdown. Warm-Up Mosey across the tracks and over to the Apex United Methodist Church courtyard and circle up for hillbillies, Sir Fazios, cherry pickers and copperhead squats. The Thang 15 Carolina dry docks, 15 monkey humpers, 15 LBCs, take an abbreviated lap around the church, repeato dropping the count by one each round. Wolver-bata

22 men decided to start their week off right at Wolverine, where we attempted to force our collective Garmin watches to register some anaerobic benefit of a workout while logging few miles for my recently-post-long-run knees. And we succeeded with a custom-built Tabata-timed work out featuring only ONE thang, repeated three times. Each exercise was 45-seconds AMRAP, with 15 seconds to transition onward. A Little Something for Everyone

Ima be real honest here. DZ is not a site a frequent that often. It’s a damn haul from my house in the POGL. But in 2020, YHC is gonna do better about getting to sites that are not in my normal rotation. And since we’re being real here, that’s a pretty good problem to have here in Carpex. This thing is BLOWING UP! So after I barely made my connecting flight, I arrived at North Cary park with plenty of time to spare. [Read More]

Peace at SWW / Crazy sheet abroad

YHC loves his annual (less if it can be avoided) trips to AOs below Route 1 but the Friday ones are doubly special. Once a DZ’er, always a DZ’er after all. But with the holiday-ish week upon us and the 2.0s not yet in school, tis the time to commit to a 20+ minute commute and see how the other half lives. And boy is it a different world down here in Car-ner Springs. [Read More]

Come to Cary and learn something... at the library

It’s a weird feeling when you show at an AO in a tank and PJs but since one of the site Q’s suggested that is what the real men sport at BO and YHC had the Q… tank and PJs it is. Even weirder sporting the above tank and PJs and skulking around the Blue Moon Cafe, but more on that in a little bit. I’m only sorry both McCants and the dear Cap’n weren’t able to make it. Insomni-Q-ersary

Last night, YHC went to bed and told the Mrs. that he would not be working out. It was our anniversary on Wednesday after all. “Nope. I’m going to sleep in,” I said. Unless I was so excited and couldn’t sleep in which case I might go to Insomnia. “But fear not… I will be back by 6. So no worries. Sleep in.” And with that, Tuesday turned into Wednesday and 14 years of marriage came to a close. [Read More]

Post X-mas Party hangover cure

Burt said he was going to be there. And he was. No Coney though. So did Flip. And he made it. Barely. Flacco did too… though he regretted it. How How, Jiggly. Viking. YHC. 7 PAX went at it with 12 days. We made it all the way through Day 10 and added on Days 11 and 12 without the bonus. COT: see above Praises & prayers: this season is about the people and family we love. [Read More]

Enough rollin' in my 5.0 ...

Ah, Thanksgiving. Family, food, football. And, if you are like me and my family, lots and lots of travel. With brothers and sisters spread out across the U.S. (and abroad) hosting Thanksgiving at home is a once-every-few-years affair. The rest of the time, it means a flight or a drive. This year, it was drive. And since no one wants to travel 800 miles only to turn around and head back 48 hours later, we saved the return till the last moment.
