Keep Your Eyes On The Road, Your Hands Upon The Wheel

It was a beautiful morning at Hells Bells during my first kettle bell Q. I know the guys at Wolverine miss my presence there the past few months, but I have really enjoyed mixing up workouts and incorporating kettle bells. Sub and Frisco arrived early for some ECP3. 12 dudes arrived, 5:30am hit on my wife’s watch, and we moseyed to the flag to Pledge our Allegiance, then… Warm-Up Moseyed the large pickle then circled up for: [Read More]

Taming the unruly colonists

**Note: this is an account of Arsenal’s Q at Claymore, as reported by YHC, Pickles. Most of the facts here are actually true.** A couple of weeks back when YHC realized that Arsenal would be in town the idea sprang up that he should Q Claymore. Brilliant! Now, this was Arsenal’s first attempt at taming the unruly PAX of CARPEX. He had Q’d YHC and Arts n’ Crafts on a few of our business trips, but nothing official. [Read More]

I've Never Seen Vertical 4 Corners

In keeping with the spirit, I’ll be brief. 11 PAX (including Great Britain’s ambassador to Carpex; great to have Arsenal out) showed up in downtown Carpex for some parking deck fun. Jogged to the little used Town Hall parking lot for warmups (The usual) Mosey over to the top of the parking deck for some vertical 4 corner 7’s (or, as some people call them “Sabans”). Starting at the top with 6 Burpees. [Read More]

Well, That Sucked

Nicely put, Pickles. More on that in a minute. As for any Q YHC rolls in about 15 minutes before the start to walk the grounds. (This was not as necessary today as I had been there the afternoon before with my 2.0 and 2.1 to scout and confirm a few things. North Cary Park is truly the nicest park in Cary.) Shortly behind me the Site Q runs in carrying the shovel flag. [Read More]

Cold Open

On “The Slack” when I see Hotspot’s week of upcoming Q’s. Hmmm. No Q at DZ. That ain’t ‘bout to happen. Snatched that bad boy up and came up with the plan. Warm Up: Harder than normal this am since everyone was in their own world conversating. Could not get this bunch of 12 in gear at all. Saben even gave me the eye. Never have I felt so inadequate as a Q. [Read More]

Leading From The 6

So I’ll write my normal Frisco style HIDA BB below but after seeing Half do something at the office today I decided to put some HIM stuff first. As Half was walking down the hall he noticed a hair on the ground behind him and quickly ran back to check to see if it was one of his (it wasn’t). Still he picked it up and dropped it in a small golden case he carries. [Read More]

Celebrating the King

A crisp morning greeted thirteen PAX as they descended upon the best lit Tuesday morning AO in all of Carpex. YHC and 6 others, including colleague Arts n Crafts from Chicago, were led by Repeato on a little EC run on the greenways around the Scottish Hills neighborhood. It’s 5:45, so time to get started. Jog to the left parking lot (after going back for phone and bluetooth speaker that would come into play later. [Read More]

And I Thought No One Was Coming

YHC forgot this was the 4 year anniversary of Shut-In (1/5/15 officially) so last week finding an empty Q slot at HBs was perfect! YHC and The Joker did some ECPs while we waited for pax to show. I thought no one was coming but at 0525 the parade of headlights flooded the park. 15 pax were up and ready to go at 0530 for the disclaimer and pledge. Pax # 16 joined us after our loop around the pickle for warmup. [Read More]
