Time for Deliverance

June 12, 2017 The Twitter machine for today’s FOD workout kicked off early yesterday with a PBX call out for deliverance. Funny how karma works. YHC played along and immediately took the Q spot at #F3RushHour, dueling Banjo Qs in one day. Yes it is time for deliverance. The line has been drawn between the sedate city lifestyle and the unpredictability of the rural margin. Deadly weapons remained at home but the dueling Banjo Qs began in earnest at FOD. [Read More]

Aristocrat Does Not Know Jack

Terrific late spring morning. Low 60s. Dew Point of 45. Couple of Shovel Flags planted. 21 of CarPex’s dudes came to Danger Zone to get stronger. At 5:35 there were only 2 cars in the lot…one of which was in my usual spot. Not a big deal since it was Tecumsah who is relatively new to Danger Zone, but not F3. He is a beast. At 5:45 20 dudes were ready to roll and then in rolled Marlboro. Baseball Bear Crawling

22 Stallions showed up for some fine work this morning. We tried to run to the fancy ball fields, they were locked. We circled up did some warmup, ran to the upper parking lot, did some bear crawl and crawl bear inchworming, then we split up in 4 teams and did some merkins, squats, burpees and sumo-squats at the corners (bases), running, bw running, crawl bearing and bear crawling between bases. Mutual Birthday Q - Can you smell what the ROCK is cookin'

Eagerly anticipating my VQ, I awoke at 4am and couldn’t go back to sleep. Birthday VQ, co-Q with Ma Bell, our illustrious Nan Tan. Rolled in to Bond Park about 15 minutes early to setup cones for the workout in the parking lot; realizing I could just of used the parking lots lines instead. Live and learn. Already waiting for mumblechatter regarding what the cones were for. Got my rocks set up and placed a record sized Weinke under said rocks. [Read More]

Sometimes you have to get a little dirty...

…at Dante’s Peak. After stepping outside about 5:15 a.m. this morning, YHC realized that he lucked out with good temps and dry conditions for his VQ day. However, it turned out that it wouldn’t stop the PAX from needing that towel in the trunk for their drive home. 23 PAX were ready to roll this morning - no FNGs and everyone on time, so we were off. Warm-up Quick jog to the basketball courts, by way of the hill. [Read More]

The Best Cure for Three Days Travelling...

…is absolutely not 100 lbs. of blueberries. It’s that little smile that creeps unbidden to your face when you realize that you have the Q the following morning and can unleash the pent up fury and frustration of three days of - driving, lines, bad eating, a flat pillow, and a 2-year-old that more closely resembles the Banshee from Darby O’Gill and the Little People than the adorable baby you once knew - on an unsuspecting PAX. CARPEx Murph 2017

This year marked the second time CARPEx held its own Memorial Day Murph, and its first as an official region. Last year at this time, the CARPEx/CAPEx naming discussion was still heated. If YHC recalled, Term Paper even had a shirt made up with CAPEx on one side and CARPeX on the other. Ah, those were the days. Apparently they are lost to history, as when the Backblast was searched for, it couldn’t be located on the site for a hyperlink. [Read More]

I heard you like burpees.

20 PAX gathered in the unGloom this fine morning. 19 stayed for the disclaimer. 18 stayed for COT. All got better. YHC had been traveling this past week, missing the PAX after a Monday post at A-Team, then a series of DIY adventures. Time to get back to business. Lucky me, I had time to scout and ponder with PBX before the workout today. Time under a log is always good for introspection. [Read More]

Partner Double Beast

It was a great morning all around for the PAX of Dante’s Peak. Weather was money. Numbers weren’t very #problematic (19 > 15), spirits were high, Open Out came in hot. No not because he’s wearing a sweatshirt in May but because he was running late. I tried my best to give this Q away to a VQ but with only a few nibbles and no bites I was excited to take the reigns. Another Soggy Tuesday

Something about Tuesdays this year…wet has been the rule of thumb…At least when YHC has posted in the am rather than the ever popular PM Rush Hour. No matter though, as 20 hard cores were there when YHC showed to do some work. Some new faces taboot. The inflow continues and that is a good thing. Pet Sounds let YHC know it was time and with that we ran up the hill to the top parking lot on left. [Read More]
