Candyland

Perfect morning to start at #Whoville. Cool and calm. @Clementine brought the flag and long sleeves. The location brought inspiration for a Candyland theme workout. Started of a little rough. YHC is still new to all of this. No FNGs – I asked and no one claimed to be an FNG – deserved mumble. Pledge. Run to the light – all 50 yards. Warm up and stretching with some reminder on how to play Candyland. [Read More]

Hills and Rock Music

Well, another great day with the Bounty Hunters is in the books! YHC made sure to get there early, as I had to set up for an elaborate plan I had working for the latter half of the beatdown. More on that later. Back at the starting point, the 4 pax doing the Apex Hill runs were already long gone, which brought the Pax number for the bootcamp to 11! Confirming there were no FNGs, we did the Pledge, and then we were off and running down Hunter St! [Read More]

7s that didn't even count

I’m really disturbed by this Garmin outage. So apparently, Garmin has been the victim of a ransomware attack. My workout is not showing up on my Garmin Connect app, and isn’t on Strava either. So did it happen? A bunch of dudes gathered round the flag at Mills Park school, known as AO Flying Circus. No FNGs, did the pledge and took off running. Disclaimer was given during the run. Arrived at the oppo side of the building and circled up for… [Read More]

Blottin' the Sasquatch

17 PAX came out for the shadiest CSAUP route this side of New Hampshire. Of the ~12 miles covered, I think maybe a mile was full sun. You have got to love the greenways out here! A few weeks back, YHC saw @F3ENC post on twitter ‘bout their annual Sasquatch CSAUP going virtual. This is an event I know Yogi and Freebird have hit up in the past and raved about. [Read More]

Katowice meets Bialystok

Pierogi Q tour continues with a return visit to the West Side. Pulled in around 5:20, shoes still on the passenger seat, with Sky Blue sliding into his regular spot just in front of me. As I leisurely put one shoe on and then the other, I notice the Flying Circus founder is getting agitated. He’s bouncing around like I’m holding him back from something. And as I tighten my laces and put the keys in the regular hiding spot, the man is literally running away from me down the parking lot. [Read More]

Are we still writing backblasts?

Hello, and welcome to Fastest Friday AO in Carpex! The site that never shut down. Where mileage records are set and asterisks are badges of honor. YHC put forth his best marketing campaign he could to reQruit our native #beardedmillennial but with the Covid15 around his waste, Fortnight at his fingers, and a warm and dry fartsack YHC received word this morning at 0830 he “didn’t hear the alarms.” And he’s “sorry man”. A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall

The Steve showed a cloudy start to the day, but small chance of rain until later. The Steve was wrong. Nine PAX were at the flag when the clock struck 0530. A very short and poorly delivered disclaimer was given, then we started. Warm Up SSHs, then warm up mosey to Kelly Road Park for Sir Fazio arm circles, Seal claps, Steve Earles, and CF Merkins. Thang 1 Get a partner for a traditional vanilla DORA. [Read More]

Ma grunted a merkin

The negative impact of COVID-19 on travel is obvious. Fact is, in many respects, travel has overnight become something most people are avoiding like crazy. Hopefully not for ever but there’s definitely been a fair bit of upheaval: cancelled business trips, less inviting person trips, family “getting by” with video calls and summer plans going arse over tit. All in all, it sucks. Case in point, RDU saw more passengers on an average day in February than they did in all of April 2020. [Read More]
