Who's Your Uncle?

The Back Story After fifteen hours of rain from Tropical Storm Elsa, the skies parted and left a beautiful Carpex just ready for something special – YHC’s first Q. And what an auspicious occasion it was! I knew I took a long time to finally get to this place and there were a lot of guys that encouraged, pushed, and flat-out razzed me to get here. Thank you all for that. [Read More]

I love the Lions Den

Ah.. July in Carpex doesn’t disappoint that is for sure. The weather was a a glorious 75f and moist. Arriving a bit early for a little EC as I do, also to scout out my tentative plan, 10 HIM joined for the my tour of all the parking lots had to offer. Starting with the pledge then a mozy a loop of large lot for warmups: Good Mornings Seal Claps Overhead Claps Sir Fazio Arm Circles Runners Stretch Thang 1: 4 corners ladder up - adding the previous exercise to each corner. YHC is not above Qing for free stuff.

Free coffee cup indeed, but no coffee. Well for the second week in a row, PBX pre-blasted that The Green Mile needed a Q and whoever took the reigns would be the proud owner of a brand new F3 stainless steal coffee mug! Well, YHC loves coffee. And free stuff, so even though I’m tapering for the TRM next Saturday, I figured a little 90 minute bootcamp wouldn’t hurt anything. [Read More]

45

Met up at the ‘flag’ with a collection of both new and old faces for measure twice. No headlamps needed. Full moon is tomorrow Measure the First: Run 45 minutes. Covered about 5.5 miles in a brisk pace but not so brisk that conversation was impossible. Enjoyed catching up with Mayflower, Torpedo, One Four and Mr. Safety. Squatter grunted once, so I suppose that’s a win. Back to the ‘flag’ right on time. [Read More]

Oh my God! They Killed PBX

Preamble OK, everybody just calm the F down. PBX is fine. But there was a period of time where we didn’t know that. “What happened?” you ask? Here’s the way it went down. All statements herein have been verified by multiple sources. The morning began like any other Friday at Gran Torino. Elite EC runners at 0500 followed by a rag-tag group of blue collar EC runners at 0505. PBX was one of those blue collar guys, along with Biner, Water Wings, and YHC. [Read More]

Beaker called it monotony, I'm glad he noticed!

Hello Hell’s Bells! Great way to start the week! Here’s what happened: 10 studs and I gathered in the lot – quick survey revealed no FNGs, bummer…. we said the pledge & carried our kettle bells 1/2 way down the lot. Brief mosey around the lot to circle up for the: Warm-up: good morning, windmill, fazio/overhead/seal/alleluias/fazio backwards, plank, merkins, etc. Another quick mosey & gather for: The Thang: wanted to bring something newish to HB, so downloaded a Tabata app – we’d do 8 rounds of each exercise, 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest…. SLT Meeting: 4/6/21

It was Tuesday, April 6 in the year two thousand and twenty one at 0530. YHC peeled into the parking lot at the Bojangles on 64 next to the Toyota dealership. I was almost late. Rounding the corner, most of my peers were still outside getting ready to breach the doors of the restaurant. I knew a handful would get in line to grab coffee and a biscuit while the rest of the gentlemen waited until after our meeting. [Read More]

Records are meant to be broken

As YHC has not attending a workout at Claymore more than a handful of times, he along with One Direction forgot its a 5:45 start. That being said a few warm up laps around parking lot killed the extra time. Beginning at 5:45, I a call for FNGS was made with no reply. With no flag in site.. we mozy’d pickle as then a site-q arrived with a flag. Stopped for pledge and then continued to other parking lot for warmups [Read More]

Last but not left behind

An amazing morning for a solid run and broga with Carpex’s finest HIM. Sure I was the “The 6” this day, but 1. I’m happy to have completed the entire course. 2. The pack came back to pick me up. I consider that a win. The Route: South on Louis Stephens Drive West onto Morrisville pkwy North onto Davis Drive West onto Morrisville Carpenter Road South on Louis Stephens Drive Yoga Thangs Standing position - Bent over at waist. Told Y'all There'd Be Hills

Preamble Thought I never actually saw it there, I swear Build-A-Bear had put me on the Q sheet for 3/8. But there I was scheduled for 3/1. One of y’all mophos is playing some shenanigans. But you got to get up mighty early in the morning to fool Ma Bell! Play your little games. As YHC enjoyed a refreshing beverage and a cigar, I formulated a plan. A plan that involved hills.
