HSP Running Circuit

Nice temperature break in the mid-40s for 20 PAX at Hunter Street Park today. Lots to do in the park and throughout downtown Apex at this AO, but the half-mile loop around the athletic fields is a must-do. Here’s how we made use of it. Warm-Up Short jog to parking lot and circle up 20 SSH, IC 15 Hillbillies, IC 20 MCs, IC 20 Wide-grip Merkins 10 Windmills Circuit Run counter-clockwise around 0. [Read More]

Calories Melting Like Snow

The morning was cold but not as cold as we all expected; 31 degrees vs an expected 27- yay Global warming! We had 15 men turnout to challenge, cheer, and celebrate each other. After a brief disclaimer from the law firm of Oxtail, nervous, and chilly LLP, we turned north for our warm up run. Let the self questioning and labored breathing begin! Below are the work out details. Mosey from flag to 1st lot for warm up – curb albert on arrival Warm up 1 - Good Morning - 14 [Read More]

1stF #4 of 6 BD & F3’versary Q-week: Plan B – 11s with multiple burpees taboot

On my drive to Tortoises in the blistering 27⁰ temperature, I took a small detour to scope out the AO. The original area I wanted to do my planned thang would not work due to safety concerns, black ice. Safety is ALWAYS #1 in my mind when leading a group of HIM. I reverted to Plan B. As I got into my parking spot, Theismann and Spartan were getting after ECP. Effort Drives Excellence

YHC was definitely a little anxious (yet confident) leading up to the VQ at F3 Carpex’s finest AO in downtown Apex, Bounty Hunters. Woke up extra early to mentally prepare and to make sure I knew how to use my wife’s watch (I hate watches) for the workout. I then headed to the skate park early only to find out Disco Duck beat me there. After a great pep talk, I moseyed around to ensure my plan would work while Disco Duck went to take a leak in the woods. Milk Run

33 Pax gathered to celebrate YHC’s 35th birthday… well actually, they gathered to watch what would happen when Frisco drank a half gallon of milk prior to the beatdown. Banjo joined Frisco in the lactose challenge. Surprisingly, they were able to keep it all down during the workout. Pickles and Parker got in some EC merkins and several pax got in an EC fellowship run with Half. Once the new start time of 0530 rolled around, we were off! [Read More]

Sharknado: Part Deux

The Sharknado - it has become YHC’s favorite circuit routine next to the Murph in recent years, and has become the official benchmark test of downtown Apex’s finest AO, Bounty Hunters. The idea is to test your endurance abilities 3 times per year to see if you are making incremental improvements, and also…because its Thursday. (hopefully not infringing on any trademark laws surrounding The Maynard’s slogan) Warm-up run from the flag to the Apex Town Hall courtyard, circle up [Read More]

From Florence to Flora

If you’re like most of us much of your time, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual energy has been spent either preparing for, getting through or rebound from Hurricane Florence. And rightfully so. One of the great things about F3 is that it allows us to escape from the daily stresses and toil in a whole other way. This is how we went from Florence to Flora. Pledge of Allegiance Quick mosey that found us running backwards and high kneeing because I knew Frisco was enjoying himself too much. [Read More]

The Numbers Are Bad

My last Q at BH was not a themed Q… so it’s time to rectify that. A peek at the date pointed me in a singular direction. Add in the chance to do a little Strava artwork, and you got yourself a workout. FNG Check - none - Disclaimer - LET’S GO Mosey down to Town Hall for our first bit of artwork. In a large figure-8 around and through the complex, let’s stop in the center twice for: [Read More]

Round and Round

A Baker’s Dozen, including one FNG, converged on Hunter Street Park, unaware of what YHC had in store for the Thursday edition of Ryder-versary week. They were soon to find out. Warm Up Pledge allegiance with an even dozen, then mosey to the parking lot for more stuff. Circle up, and after SSHs, Cotton pickers and the first half of Sir Fazio, Khakis joins in the fun. We complete Sir Fazio, then knock out 10 burpees OYO.
