BREATHE!

Over on the Dark Side of Cary, 14 HIM were volun-told by YHC what to do at Kryptonite. We gathered at the flag and excitedly waited for the EC runners to arrive. Then we listened to Hermes talk about his 5k PR and how he was going to take it slow on the main event. Being the ever-benevolent Q, I agreed to keep it to a reasonable pace (or I just leveraged the moment to subtly admit how slow I am…) We celebrated leadership in our community by delegating a pearls-on-a-string workout to the PAX. Catching Largemouth

Last night, the Q slot for BiB opened up, so YHC volunteered to take the helm. I remembered a nearby segment from last year’s Hill Climb Challenge, so I built the workout around that. 15 total Pax today, including one FNG. TClaps to Farm Aid and Useful Engine for bringing out a friend. Thing Mosey around the lake. Warm-up: I called some unusual stuff that Build-a-Bear didn’t love. Pearls on a String Mosey through the greenway to Glade Park Road. [Read More]

Virtue of the bored

Punctuality is a key part of our culture here within F3 CARPEx. Case in point, we start on time, we end on time and we even have an official Region timekeeper: Saban. I am not aware of any other Regions that take punctuality so seriously. Even when Saban is not around, if a workout goes long, inevitably someone will mention Saban being unhappy. Suffice it to say, “Don’t be late” might as well be our subheader. [Read More]

12 Days of Christmas Rocks FWD 12/22/20

1 For EC EC 1 mile bike ride - Oofta 6 For 2.5-3.3 mile EC run - Chipper, Lookout, Joe Smith, Oofta, Full House, YHC (not Shut-In) 14 circled up, we said the pledge and jogged over to standard warm up area. Warmup: Good mornings, hill billies and merkins (all Metatarsalgia friendly excersises). We then each grabbed a moderate rock and jogged across the Parkway (not the peakway) to lower office building front door. [Read More]

New Home

This was the second of two ’late commit’ Qs by YHC on Sunday night, and for an easy reason. Good chance this could have been 3 scoop Qs, but I didn’t want to grab a Wednesday to leave that open for a Maynard or a Cleaver (which I proceeded to FS through anyways). Point Break was open, and the FWD-PB-SWW combo would have felt appropriate given upcoming circumstances. More on that in the NMS. [Read More]

Mystery of the F3 Prius (QIC: Oofta)

QIC: Oofta On his way to BiB this morning, Pierogi began following a silver Prius with an F3 sticker on its back bumper. Piergo assumed he’d follow this Pax right into our parking lot. Not so! The Prius took the turn immediately before ours and headed into a separate Koka Booth parking lot. 3 for EC (Hermes, Oofta, Francois). Great crew of 15 for the ME. Mosey to the rock pile. Bean Bag Toss & a Little Bit of Everything

Some workouts seem to focus on one particular thing: today is leg day or arms or abs, etc. I like to do a little bit of everything with a Q, and that’s how this morning went at Point Break. Warm-up: started with the mission of F3 and the pledge, then moseyed across the street to a long parking lot. Stopped for several rounds of some quick feet and curb merkins. Moseyed again down to the back parking lot and painted the lines until the end of the lot where we stopped for SSH, GM’s, and Hill Billy’s. [Read More]

Dodgerless Point Break Vanilla Beatdown

16 Pax showed up on a unseasonably warm October morning including about 5 of the standard EC runners. Started with the pledge and circled up. Was prepared to start off with 15 burpees if there were any Dodger fans in the house but no one took the bait. Did the usual Warmarama instead with SSH, Good Mornings, Tappy Toes, Box Cutters, Homer to Marge, Runners Stretch and Squat Holds. Mosey to the Main Pavilion doing butt kickers, high knees and Karaoke on the way [Read More]

Orpheus in the Underworld

Build-a-Bear relinquished his Q yesterday. I assume he built a submarine, so that he could run up and down the continental shelf. YHC was glad to step in. 2 for EC (Oofta and Staubach) and 2 for 10-Mile ECME (Lookout and Chops). Mosey the long way to Lowes Foods parking lot. Warm-Up. Lots of stretching, inspired by (our boy) Bluewater last week. Thing 1: Santa’s Ladder From the Exicon: “Pick a spot in the distance. [Read More]
