Goes without saying...

Today was YHCs 4th Q in 6 days. By now, the scoops of vanilla were overflowing the bowl so I had all intentions of coming up with a fool proof plan for today’s beat down. Well, then I was on the road for 12 hours for work yesterday and decided to roll with a couple ideas I had in my head. It had been a while since I’ve posted at the OG Lions Den site and sort of forgot how intimate certain areas can be. [Read More]

Backblast two-fer

Taking a page out of the high-tempo-ness of the two AOs to which this two-fer belongs and high-tempoing this mofo in one uninterrupted writing block. Clock. Starts. Now. 7:01PM start. Measured Thrice Location: TGM PAX: YHC, Parker, Snots, 1-4, Pivot, Skidmore (out of towner… sort of), Biner, Hi-Liter + Ruckers: Trike, Repeato + Pooch, Skipper Warm-up: Bring yo gloves. High Tempo Euphoria

18 came to workout, a day after a much needed slap on the old wrist from the Nant’an, so with that a heightened sense to get the Pax working out, but also spread ’em out a touch, YHC designed a high tempo beatdown with that in mind. High tempo warm-ups and lightening quick Good Mornings. Y’all need to chill about these Good Mornings. Hell, we can’t even count and do seal claps properly anymore. [Read More]

Sunrise over New Hampshire

Had lots of concepts and ideas in mind for Wolverine this morning but decided to keep it simple this morning. Warm-up / Thang / Mary: We ran from Davis Drive Park to Bond Park stopping every now and then for exercises which may or may not have included irkins. Once in Bond Park we did a coupon set of curls, rock rows, tricep extensions and overhead presses (15x each) with five burpees in between. [Read More]

Burpees for Days

11 PAX joined YHC at Bond Park this morning for a great start to the weekend. It is good to see things returning to somewhat normal slowly after the last few weeks of staying home. YHC signed up to Q for accountability. If your name is on the Q sheet, theres a very high likelihood you will make it to the work out. After several weeks ‘off’ it is good to make sure you get up when the alarm goes off. [Read More]

Return of the Deck II

YHC read Kermit’s Rush Hour BB yesterday and thought it was time to bring out a slightly different version of the deck. Funny story first though. Yesterday YHC posted to the Cary Cartel channel an optional to EC before BH to work the Hillz challenge. Plan was to meet at the bottom of the Shepherd’s Vineyard segment and run in then do another repeat on the way back. No one smashed the HC button so I wasn’t expecting anyone so I was very pleasantly surprised to see two cars in the parking lot at 0505 when I pulled up. Return of the Deck

The evening finally came for the grand reopening of Carpex’s original evening AO, and it felt so good to be back! 10.5 pax came out to get their beatdown on. (because two 2.0s=1.5… which kept us “under the 10” mark) …ok fine it was 11 overall, but who’s counting? Either way, it was a big crowd for Rush Hour. And it was awesome to see! Ok, with that out of way, YHC started off with the mission statement and the Pledge of Allegiance. [Read More]

Re-opening Wolverine

The air was cool and the gloomiest of AO’s was lit by a clear morning sky with a bright waning gibbous moon. It was a joy to be able to officially re-open Wolverine. The five other HIM that showed up made it a morning to remember with mumble chatter that YHC has seriously missed over the past 6 weeks. While we were away, TOC graciously finished their construction project. So, not only did we re-open the AO, we moved the flag back to its rightful place in the main parking lot. [Read More]

Dice-capades

At the time of this Q, I still thought Social Distance was the length you went to to post and Q outside your comfort zone - to meet and greet some new PAX. My how times change… At the helm of BH today and a decent group kept swelling with late arrivals. However, most PAX were tapering or bruising, so we were left with only 7 for the ME. And my lazy, isolated, kid-watching self is simply dropping the weinke on you. [Read More]
