Traffic Diversion at Rush Hour

Seeing a rare Q-spot opening for Rush Hour, YHC grabbed this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and immediately started preparing for little something different for the good folks of DTC. Of course, with only a handful of Rush Hour experiences under my belt, “something different” might not have been all that different but I was going to try! But first… Tiberius needs a ride. I’m in. A text message (3:31PM), a Slack message (4:06PM) and a phone call (4:12PM) later I’m really confirmed. [Read More]

Dora at the Diamond

It was a special type of Tank Top Thursday at Bounty Hunters as a few followed in the footsteps of Cameron Poe played by the electrifying Nicolas Cage and wore sleeveless undershirts. Well… his picture electrified Slack for about 10 minutes anyway. In all, about half of us were in tanks so a good showing. We Pledged our Allegiance to Old Glory and then moseyed over to nice spot between Apex Town Hall and Apex Community Center to get warmed up. [Read More]

Thank you for your high-tempo leadership or Not

Date: July 23, 2018 Weather: 71 degrees, humid, rain over night, heat lightening, dry (just like the bite). Yesterday morning I noticed that the Q for K-Nite was open. Saw this as an opportunity to lead and more importantly to write the three Back Blasts I owed the men before I Q’ed again. Wrapped them up yesterday and planned yet another vanilla workout. 16 Pax answered the bell for another in a long line of vanilla clusters. #mccantsweek DAY 2 - MURPH

One day of legally-styled backblasts is enough. If any member of the PAX enjoys that eloquent writing, I have a 45 page brief on why a RICO class action complaint needs to be dismissed that YHC would gladly pass along. For those of you who are normal, back to YHC’s normal BB style, which means one that can fit into a tweet: 16 PAX appeared at FMJ, including Peeping Tom from South Wake and his FNG cousin, n/k/a Speed Racer. BRR preview run

Team principal Hotspot has stoked the fire of our BRR crew. Since YHC is still getting back in the groove after an overheat at Phoenix, a prudent decision to avoid the Maynard, and an open Q at Vesper, proved a good coincidence. Unlike the last time, where batons, vests, lights, and other paraphernalia were employed, I kept it simple. Bring back the batons, forget the rest. After a brisk Insomnia, there was definitely some Q shopping going on. [Read More]

Triple Nickle Hillz

A gorgeous morning in Cary!!! 60 degrees and 91% humidity after weeks of 80 degrees and 97%+ humidity! With tour-de-Carpex month, the aim was to keep it challenging, but to also not scare off any infrequent Kryptonite visitors in the hopes they come back to this AO! There’s lots of running, sure, but it isn’t JUST about running! YHC was very pleased to see a solid stream of cars rolling into the AO as we got closer to M-Minute. The Spirit of '76

It has been said that the Spirit of ‘76 is a patriotic sentiment referring to the attitude of self-determination and individual liberty made manifest in the Declaration of Independence. That spirit was well-exemplified at Phoenix today as we started looking forward to the 4th of July week with a them of ‘76. WARM-UP The Pledge and 76 SSH, single count, some good mornings, and then we moseyed over to the Phoenix stadium in the grass. [Read More]

37 is the new 47

It was a hot June night in the year of our Lord 1981. Judy and Ralph (his friends call him Dice) Jodice welcomed their first born son (of 3) into this world. The heavens shook and the Devil pooped his pants, for life as we knew it would never be the same again. 37 years later and YHC drives a small(ish) SUV, has 2 kids, a wife, an IRA and a 529 account for his children. More than just a workout (Carpex Convergence)

Truth be told, YHC is feeling some pressure on this BB. But, in the words of a sage Carpex veteran: “Keep it vanilla and Q to the site.” - Carman Liuzzo, 57, Burt Wednesday, June 20th, will go down as an EPIC day in Carpex history. The menu looked like this: 0430 - 0500 HIMs launching for the 10.7 mile Maynard loop (14 by YHC’s count) 0505 HIMs launching for Insomnia, YHC on the route Q 0545 HIMs gather for SNS + Tortoises + Vesper convergence at Bond Park 0630 COT with 77 strong, followed by 2nd/3rd F fellowship and Chinese Downhill sharing this powerful and emotional story.
