No Kilts, No Problem

A brisk fall morning greeted the 13 PAX who came out to check out Carpex’s newest Tuesday morning AO. No one was sporting a kilt, and YHC detected a sense of relief from the PAX on that fact. The Joker and Repeato both were able to walk in from their Scottish Hills homes, Repeato doing so with a ruck sack on his back. Some lively chatter as everyone waited to see what YHC had in store for them. [Read More]

A Near-Maximum Effort

Late last night as YHC was preparing to go downtown Apex to celebrate a friends Bday Hello Kitty DMs me and proposes the idea that we split up the pax where he Q them for half the workout and YHC would have the other half then we switch. Knowing I was not going downtown to drink milk the idea of a little help was attractive. The birthday was appropriately celebrated and YHC was left with just a few hours to sleep it off before my Q. Effort Drives Excellence

YHC was definitely a little anxious (yet confident) leading up to the VQ at F3 Carpex’s finest AO in downtown Apex, Bounty Hunters. Woke up extra early to mentally prepare and to make sure I knew how to use my wife’s watch (I hate watches) for the workout. I then headed to the skate park early only to find out Disco Duck beat me there. After a great pep talk, I moseyed around to ensure my plan would work while Disco Duck went to take a leak in the woods. 10/5/18, The Liuzzo Scale of Magnitude of Vanillaness

5 for 7800° EC 3 mile run around the glorious Symphony Lake. 22 were there for the start of the standard issue vanilla boot camp, one could not handle the pressure and had to leave early. After the Pledge of Allegiance, we jogged to the parking deck for a standard Shut-In warmup followed by 70 LBCs in Cadence. Then went down the stairs and got in position for BTTW 5 count down the line and back, then we did some more LBCs, then we partnered up for Dora 1,2,3 with 100 Merkins, 200 calf raises and 300 LBCs. Brought to you by the Letters D and B

I went to Q school a couple of weeks ago. Since I am out of town and will miss the start of VQ week I decided to step up early and get this thang done. In my posts leading up to this I took lots of mental notes. Most of them were forgotten before the first exercise (do you really have to say ‘Recover’?). Thanks to those who helped with time keeping as my FitBit bit it this morning. [Read More]

I am thankful & I am third

In an effort to add a few more Q’s to YHC’s list before the end of the year, YHC locked in on Thanksgiving morning at Bradford’s Ordinary a few months ago, only to later find out that it would be a Carpex Convergence… and 60-minutes at that. Have not fear PAX, YHC is up to the task and set forth to drop not only a beatdown on the you, but hopefully an impactful post, thus the theme of I am third. [Read More]
