37 is the new 47

It was a hot June night in the year of our Lord 1981. Judy and Ralph (his friends call him Dice) Jodice welcomed their first born son (of 3) into this world. The heavens shook and the Devil pooped his pants, for life as we knew it would never be the same again. 37 years later and YHC drives a small(ish) SUV, has 2 kids, a wife, an IRA and a 529 account for his children. Return to the Bridge

AO: Flirtin w/Disaster June 26, 2018 Weather forecasts can be an inconvenient distraction. After days of threats (90% chance of rain, thunder!) Build-a-Bear calls a pop-up EC three miler, departing 0430. Not a rain drop in sight. Such was the beginning of a muggy morning at YHC’s first pre-arranged Q at Flirtin’ w/Disaster. Some of the PAX may have suffered a flash back to YHC’s disorderly pop-up Q at this very AO about a month earlier, where we spent quality time on and across the US1/64 pedestrian bridge. [Read More]

Jog up Tryon Rd, do some irkins on the guard rail, jog up Tryon Road, do some LBC’s at the Nationwide office, jog up Tryon Road past the fancy entrance sign at the apartments, to the greenway and back down into the emergency spillway aka/greenway tunnel. No Rip, No Problem

Got an email while I was up late working. No Riptide, sick M. Well Hermes is out of town so I guess I got the Q! What should I do? I’ll think of it in the morning….. I got there and Termpaper was making comments about Rip not knowing it was at 5:30 and might not show. I had to let him know he wasn’t coming. He seemed bummed about not toddler swats or partner merkins. New Grounds and a Signature Sunrise

Strava: 3 miles https://www.strava.com/activities/1573186828 Got to nab the Q from Hi-Liter this week. It’s becoming tougher and tougher to get a Q spot if you don’t plan more than 2 weeks in advance. That’s something Carpex can be proud of! Something else to be proud of is to leave the pax breathless at COT and better than where you found them at the start of the day! Let’s see how we did! [Read More]
