AND Back in the Saddle

Whew, it’s been a while! YHC did have one random Hells Bells Q during my extended stay on the IR but today’s Q definitely puts me back in the saddle. There was a great crowd of 17 pax to welcome YHC back in and a nice cool breeze ta boot. Back in January listening to the F3 podcast it was suggested that all of our workouts start with the disclaimer. Everytime. [Read More]

Hidden Hills of Apex

Temps in the mid 40s. A perfect day for a strong group of 21 PAX to log a few miles and eat some hills for breakfast. Good to see Yoda make the trip from Raleigh again, and his guy Curry. This was YHC’s 2-week delayed birthday Q, after being sick with the flu on my actual birthday. Thanks to Burt for the beer lesson and for bringing me the gift of various of Anheuser Busch products (you know, because Michelob). [Read More]

Dora 2-2-2

First day of Spring and the weatherman is calling for snow, I arrive a few minutes early to check the parking lot and make sure it’s safe, it’s wet but 37 degrees, so we’re all set. Warm-Up Mosey down to the bottom of the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, Sir Fazios and burpees. The Thang Everybody grab a cinder block and partner up for Dora 2-2-2, 200 curls, 200 overhead presses, 200 squats while your partner carries his coupon to the light pole and back. [Read More]

March Madness

Apparently it’s March already. February, you always cheat me out of 2-3 days. So time to get those NCAA pools going. But before that starts, let’s celebrate in the rainy gloom at Hunter Street Park. PERFECT weather. Warm Up JigglyPuff posts the flag, and we start with the Pledge of Allegiance. Mosey to a suitable parking lot for some warm up. Along the way we get in some butt-kickers, high knees, and side shuffles. Bounty Hunter BLIMPS

It was a scorching 57 degrees this morning, perfectly timed for Tank Top Thursday. YHC was the only participant, but appreciated Parker’s good intentions this morning, only to realize that he doesn’t own one. I think he can fix that with some scissors by next week… 11 PAX ready to go, no FNGs, and we’re off. Warm up jog around the track to the far parking lot, wave hello to FiA as we pass. [Read More]

The Pax Will Not Be Silenced

16 loudmouths gathered at the gates of Apex Skate Park in hopes that their choice of Bounty Hunters (aka the AO not Q’d by Hi-Liter) would provide some welcome relief. Of course, YHC, being a man of the people, took requests. “Not too much running, no burpees, and few Merkins, if you don’t mind McCants.” Really? Well, there you have it. Warmup: High tempo lap around the outside of the soccer field, Freddy Mercury’s until the six shows up, SSH, Lil Man JJ, and, oh, wait, Burt wants to storm the circle since his Hokies won a home game? It was a Dark and Stormy Morning...

Pre-BB The FMJ Q-Coozies are awesome. Nice work, Shank. To be clear, though, it was NOT for the wet Coozie that YHC partnered with Pet Sounds on this unusually warm and stormy morning in the PEX. YHC enjoys the challenge - to post, let alone Q, in the monsoon conditions that were forecast promised to be a great challenge to overcome. YHC couldn’t pass up the opportunity. BB 9 mariners manned up and made waves with Pet Sounds and YHC at FMJ. [Read More]

"Back in my Day..."

Yes, yes, yes we’ve heard it all before, “up hill… in the snow… both ways…” Whatever! That never happened but I’m going to smile and nod because you’ve earned the right to tell your story the way you want it told. Good for you. This on the other hand did happen and 12 PAX wrote the script, directed, produced, starred and film edited (well that was all Parker) their own version of “Back in my Days of F3! [Read More]

Shuttyversary Day 2: Ice Age

YHC actually had a pretty good one planned for today but due to horrible weather conditions, ice everywhere, locked gates, and lack of Pax we had to…adjust. It all worked out in the end though. Great small group to get after it this morning. TCLAPS for Hermes making the special trip to support his F3 Daddy as father and son continue on the quest to knock out a 6 pack to start off the year.
