I am thankful & I am third

In an effort to add a few more Q’s to YHC’s list before the end of the year, YHC locked in on Thanksgiving morning at Bradford’s Ordinary a few months ago, only to later find out that it would be a Carpex Convergence… and 60-minutes at that. Have not fear PAX, YHC is up to the task and set forth to drop not only a beatdown on the you, but hopefully an impactful post, thus the theme of I am third. [Read More]

A crowd gathered on a crisp cool morning (including a few newcomers complianing about the commute - (we dont want hear it Grinch, Termpappy and Kitty). We know how big Carpex is. [Read More]

Hey, There's Callie

Gloomy and humid after a much-needed rain the night before, 13 gathered in the semi-darkness of Thomas Brooks Park full of optimism and talk of seeing light at he end of the tunnel. Little did they know, that was an on-coming train - The Pain Train. With The Rolling Stone making its first appearance at FOD, 4 walked off into the gloom with sand bags and metal plates on their backs, while 9 did this: [Read More]

How quickly..

How quickly things change. Last week, Gloom temperatures were in the 70’s and humid. This morning the PAX broke out the long sleeves and sweatshirts (some of them, anyway) for temps starting with a “4.” And that’s Freedom degrees, not in some commie temperature. The Tortoises crew had made the journey north in order to partake of the 2nd/3rdF after the workout (more on this later), so go time was even more of a goat rodeo than normal at SnS. [Read More]

The Pre (pre-launch, pre-blast, pre-naming)

Arriving at the site, Goose and YHC were hoping that other braves would show up to give this pre-launch a boost. Fear not, this is CARPEX…..there will be men. And mighty fine men at that. After planting the site shovel - soon to be a shovel flag (something new) - and, thank you PBX, FOD’s shovel flag (something borrowed) the site co-Q’s YHC (something Sky Blue) and Goose (something old approaching “respect”) were ready to get the day started. Cool Runnings at FOD

Despite several ominous warnings on the GroupMe, 17 PAX arrived at FOD in the cool crisp air for Day1 of a Back-to-Back Beaker Beatdown (BBBB, B Quartic, B4 - I’m just dropping a TM on any variant of 4 Bs). Franklin and Airbag had to be coaxed out of the warm and cozy Wolfpack Red 4Runner with promises (lies?) of a not-too-difficult Q that would be much more difficult for the rest of the PAX if they didn’t join.
