"Back in my Day..."

Yes, yes, yes we’ve heard it all before, “up hill… in the snow… both ways…” Whatever! That never happened but I’m going to smile and nod because you’ve earned the right to tell your story the way you want it told. Good for you. This on the other hand did happen and 12 PAX wrote the script, directed, produced, starred and film edited (well that was all Parker) their own version of “Back in my Days of F3! [Read More]

Fight Back

8 HIMs had no interest in letting the snow be an excuse to sleep-in and in doing so resolved to Fight Back against the weatherman, Mr. Sandman, Father time and oh yes, we placed an emphasis on strengthening our backs. Q Swap

QIC: Boyardee, Yanni BB Author: Yanni If you roll up to any F3 AO, whether it be in your region, a neighboring region, or in another state, you can be assured that you will be greeted with the same open arms and fist bumps. The men of Dante’s Peak welcomed YHC and Boyardee with great enthusiasm and smiling faces. YHC and @mabellcarpex met a week earlier at The Earl in Pittsboro and like all F3 encounters, hit it off immediately and hatched a plan. [Read More]

Christmas Train!

When the request hit groupme for a Q for Dante’s Peak YHC jumped at the opportunity to lead Carpex’s finest HIMs not realizing that it was the morning after the big Christmas bash. Never fear, I knew I’d have a strong group of HIMs and I wasn’t disappointed this morning. I was a bit worried at 5:37 when we only had YHC, Crimson (because you know he rode with me), and Disco Duck in the parking lot but we had a strong crowd roll in from there. [Read More]

Try Not to Poop Yourself

As #RespectWeek winds down, there was one last Friday flurry of RESPECT Qs before the finale tomorrow at Phoenix. YHC had actually signed up for this Q before the concept began, so it was fate. And I knew I had to bring it, when I saw 22 pairs of eager eyes staring at me from the gloom - well, 21, ‘cause Freebird came in on 2 wheels as we were saying the Pledge of Allegiance. [Read More]

Get your kicks...

YHC was questionable Tuesday night as a chronically painful achilles tendon was joined by a strained hamstring courtesy of some lunch-time ultimate on Tuesday. To leave my fellow Tortoises without a Q on such short notice just wouldn’t do. Luckily, a night of sleeping with a heat wrap on the hammy and a handful of ibuprophen had YHC feeling much better once the alarm went off. Off to Apex for some limited running! [Read More]

The 1%

In past wars, the war effort was a national effort. The entire country got behind both world wars and in Vietnam, the draft touched families across this land in all economic groups. For the war or against the war, the war effort was front and center at family dinner tables coast to coast. That was then. For my time in the military, the 80’s, who knew that was relative “peace time” for the American military. [Read More]
