The Lake is Beautiful this Time of Year (har, har!)

“The lake at Phoenix is beautiful this time of year,” I thought with a sadistic little smirk on my face. Here is how we got there…. YHC didn’t know what to expect at Phoenix this morning with the Mule going on in Raleigh. Hello Kitty planned a 6 mile meander through Cary, as well. But, the parking lot was packed with PAX and one FNG. So, after the initial disclaimer, we were off, running down to the stop sign and then “whoa, curveball” Hi-Liter heads to the right, the traditional Texas Ranger path, but YHC heads left, just keeping everyone guessing. Thank God for parking Decks

Wake up to yet another Rainy morning in Cary, seriously!!!! I have signed up for yet another Q in the rain, but thank God there is a parking deck close to the AO where we can exit the downpour. Check the Radar before heading out, yes the rain is here for the duration of our upcoming beat down. Put on the rain jacket and head to BO and surprisingly there are 7 warriors there to meet me, under the eave of the building across the street. [Read More]

This PAX is on Fire

Dow Jones wasn’t the only one that had a rough week. YHC was again bit by some sort of bug and two colleagues went down with the flu. So what better way to cap off the week than rising from the ashes at Phoenix? 20 PAX agreed and all 21 of us hit the gloom. Though rain threatened, we stayed mostly dry. A few hearty PAX ran into the AO from various destinations, working to get in some extra miles leading up to various events this Spring. [Read More]

2017 in Review

Pre-BB We absolutely blew up GroupMe on its last official day in action when YHC asked the PAX to share what, in each HIM’s opinion, was the biggest event of 2017. Hilarity ensued. PAX eschewed work and risked loss of employment to contribute. It was all worth it, guys…IT WAS ALL WORTH IT! BB ‘Twas the last workout of the year and all through Bond Park, 20 warriors went a-running through the cold and the dark. [Read More]

12 MORE Days of Christmas

I naturally assume that most of the Pax are getting a little burned out on “12 days” themed work outs so what better way to celebrate the coming of the new year than with another one! Right? No Meow Mile!? Warm up: 10x - GM’s IC 10x - Windmills IC 10x - IW IC The Thang: In the closest parking lot to the flag we have 4 stops with a small run between each [Read More]

The Thang YHC takes over and leads the men through the Disco Kitty version of 12 Days of Christmas. Here’s the last verse. On the 12th day of Christmas my Q love gave to me [Read More]

40 Year-Old Virgin Q

June 2nd, 2017, YHC is having an early afternoon HH (I know you’re all shocked!) with a few old friends, when one of them says “Hey, what are you doing tomorrow morning?”. Of course, I was planning to do what I always do on Saturday mornings, sleep! This Saturday would be different. I woke up at 6 am…and hit the snooze. Woke up again at 6:20 and this time I managed to get myself out of bed. [Read More]

Constructing (and Deconstructing) BLIMPS

14 HIM gathered at the well-lighted Apex Nature Park to start their weeks off right. Started with a brief jog into one parking lot (where the PAX got a little confused as Hot Spot broke off from the group for his solo run through the woods) for the warmup (SSH, Good Mornings, Sir Fazio Arm Circles, Overhead Clap, Mountain Climbers, Cotton Pickers). Mosey across the street to the larger parking lot to construct (and deconstruct) some BLIMPS (5 Burpees, 10 Lunges, 15 Imperial Walkers, 20 Merkins, 25 Plank Jacks, 30 Squats) as follows.
