#mccantsweek DAY 2 - MURPH

One day of legally-styled backblasts is enough. If any member of the PAX enjoys that eloquent writing, I have a 45 page brief on why a RICO class action complaint needs to be dismissed that YHC would gladly pass along. For those of you who are normal, back to YHC’s normal BB style, which means one that can fit into a tweet: 16 PAX appeared at FMJ, including Peeping Tom from South Wake and his FNG cousin, n/k/a Speed Racer. Four Leaf Clovers and Horseshoes

As the clock approached 0545 only five faces were looking back at me, but they were the faces of absolute STUDS who were expecting a thorough beatdown, and YHC was prepared to deliver. Let’s get after it! Warm-Up Lap around the lot and circle up for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, plank jacks, mountain climbers and standard merkins. The Thang Mosey over to the baseball field where YHC had placed four cones in the shape of a four leaf clover. [Read More]

Unbroken

Full Metal Jacket, already an AO with a military theme, YHC was feeling especially patriotic after having watched the movie “Unbroken” last week on 4th of July. Warm-up: YHC announced the theme to a healthy sized group of 14 PAX (or was it 15?) and off we went. Warm-up took us on a run for a loop around the ponds, ending up back at the playground set where we did a few good mornings and plank-jacks. [Read More]

What's that smell?

AO: Full Metal Jacket QIC: Pickles Twelve PAX were assembled in the soupy pre-dawn gloom, and ready to go for YHC’s first ever FMJ Q. Gather at the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance and we’re off on a nice easy mosey. A couple of cars came rolling in as we pulled away – someone’s tardy, and we’ll all have to pay. Circle up at the first drive way for… WHOAH! [Read More]

Kicking off USA Birthday Week

As we come up on 241 years as a country, YHC felt it was appropriate to celebrate with a little victory lap. It’s a beautiful lake with wonderful scenery and a typically well maintained Apex trail running around it. The backblasts suggested A-Team hadn’t run a lap in quite some time (YHC found reference to one such effort in ‘16 led by a “McCants”) so here we go. Warm-up: this was sort of done on the run [Read More]

37 is the new 47

It was a hot June night in the year of our Lord 1981. Judy and Ralph (his friends call him Dice) Jodice welcomed their first born son (of 3) into this world. The heavens shook and the Devil pooped his pants, for life as we knew it would never be the same again. 37 years later and YHC drives a small(ish) SUV, has 2 kids, a wife, an IRA and a 529 account for his children. ~~~Ride~~The~~Wave~~~

2nd F event on Tuesday night prior to the Wednesday Q was bad idea. Well the actual event wasn’t a bad idea, but those last 4 Brooksweisers were prolly a really bad idea. But hey, great opportunity for a 2nd F baseball game with your F3 brothers! The mighty Holly Springs Salamanders, affectionately known by the locals as the ‘Manders, are a force to be reckon with…sorta. Anyhoo the plan was to carpool from some shady Cary bar called The 19th Hole Bar and Grill; leaving at 6:20. More than just a workout (Carpex Convergence)

Truth be told, YHC is feeling some pressure on this BB. But, in the words of a sage Carpex veteran: “Keep it vanilla and Q to the site.” - Carman Liuzzo, 57, Burt Wednesday, June 20th, will go down as an EPIC day in Carpex history. The menu looked like this: 0430 - 0500 HIMs launching for the 10.7 mile Maynard loop (14 by YHC’s count) 0505 HIMs launching for Insomnia, YHC on the route Q 0545 HIMs gather for SNS + Tortoises + Vesper convergence at Bond Park 0630 COT with 77 strong, followed by 2nd/3rd F fellowship and Chinese Downhill sharing this powerful and emotional story. Is that a phone in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

12 HIMs met in the not-so-gloomy, yet balmy 80 degree / 85%RH morning. Aiming to be a responsible Q, I let the Pax know I was carrying my phone in the event of any emergencies. Never one to be shy, McCants jumped at the opportunity to ensure is presence was welcome and enjoyed by the Q! This heat and humidity can easily cause mild heat exhaustion or worse. Stay Hydrated, folks! Arrivederci

It was November 2014 when YHC and Michelob first posted to Ateam. At our one year F3aversary in November 2015, then Site Q’s Denali and Grease Monkey handed off the shovel flag to us to man for the next 2.5 years. We supposed it was time to share the honor with some HIM who hadn’t had the opportunity to do so yet. McCants already had the Q for today, so YHC requested it from him under the guise of “I’m leaving town and wanted to Q before I leave” – He bought it :-) [Read More]
