And now for something completely different......

In the ever brightening gloom as we giddy up toward summer, 15 brave and intrepid men made their way to an outpost in the northernmost western AO in Cary, for an early morning beatdown by Carpex legend Petsounds. Petsounds has other ideas and was thousands of miles away in sunny CA whilst all this was going on, so instead YHC stepped in as a makeweight Q whilst Petsounds googleplexed in Palo Alto…. Well, Ultimate Frisbee season started up, so posting to Carpex workouts has been limited by soreness and/or injuries. I haven’t posted in about 3 weeks, so I was pumped to take the Q at DangerZone this morning. Of course I was expecting to be greeted to a heroes welcome, or strut into the AO while a boombox is blasting the Welcome Back Kotter’s theme song. Nope, none of those happened. Instead the night before, Sabre is skeaning me for not having some sort of a Pre-Blast, Peeerogi is questioning my mobility to Q, and CK is DM’ing me constantly…with his only interest of bequeathing me with his old bicycle inner-tubes with advice to utilize said inner-tubes during the Q for resistance running “in case you can’t think of any exercises to do”. Til Valhalla

By chance, the Q for Rolling Stone this week was vacant when Hello Kitty sent out the Sunday night lineup for the week. By even better chance, Friday was May 3rd, the third anniversary of the death of Naval Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Charles H. Keating IV (SEAL). See, I did not know Charlie. He grew up in Arizona and was an elite runner who ended up at Indiana University on scholarship. [Read More]

Tortoises musical beat down!

I couldn’t have asked for a better morning to host my first Q, along with Squatters help. We did have an FNG, so the pledge was recited, F3 Mission and disclaimer. The only running of the morning was a quick mosey around the lot and then circled up for our warm-ups. Warm-Ups Side Straddle Hops Good Morning Abe Vigoda Cotton Picker The Thang #1 Bearway to Heaven- bearcrawl 2 parking lot spaces followed by 7 burpees, mosey back to start line, bearcrawl 4 parking lot spaces followed by 6 burpees, continue until 0 burpees remain. Spartan Training #1 at A Team

Date: 4/30/2019 QIC: Parker YHC signed up for the Asheville Spartan Super later this summer, following in the footsteps of Build-a-Bear, GTL, Malpractice, Spartan, and I’m sure a bunch of other PAX who enjoy this sort of thing. BaB just keeps telling YHC to work on grip strength, so that’s what we set out to do today at A-Team. 15 PAX gathered at the gate, disclaimer and F3 mission statement given, Pledge said, and off we go. Shakin' & Stirrin'

Warm & beautiful morning in Cary’s Bond Park for Shaken not Stirred – great group of hard workin’ men too! It was my pleasure to lead such a group & I thoroughly enjoyed it!
