Holy Sh*%! It's been a year!

What a crazy ass year it’s been! Thinking back to this time last year, I couldn’t have imagined that a few beers at Lowes Food with a bunch of dudes named Steve would have impacted me quite like it has. Chicken Little and Hamm had been working on me for months and I kept holding strong, sleeping in and making excuses. That was until Sooey had to go and buy me a beer – well, technically Schlitz gave me a free beer, but Sooey shelled out the dough for my second. [Read More]

Switch Back Training

Thanks to Wrench for the attempt at a video of who was in attendance. Amazingly, I was able to pretty quickly remember 13 of 14 PAX. The one that took me the longest to remember was…YHC. The Carpex Challenge quest continues this morning at Bradford’s Ordinary. I had posted here an entire 2 times previously, but I knew there was a giant parking deck, and what else do you really need than a water fountain, which we have that too! [Read More]

Western Wake convergence

Monday morning YHC Q’ed a little bit of a CARPEx/Churham get together up in the great cold north of Winterfell. So color me purple when this morning turned into a full-on three regions convergence with men from CARPEx, Churham(ish) and South Wake (legit and former) coming into Whoville. As Riptide would say… “Fantastic!” Never been out here before and vowing not to rely merely on Google, I got up extra early this morning and did a bit of recon work coupled with some EC. [Read More]

Blottin' the Sasquatch

17 PAX came out for the shadiest CSAUP route this side of New Hampshire. Of the ~12 miles covered, I think maybe a mile was full sun. You have got to love the greenways out here! A few weeks back, YHC saw @F3ENC post on twitter ‘bout their annual Sasquatch CSAUP going virtual. This is an event I know Yogi and Freebird have hit up in the past and raved about. [Read More]

Goes without saying...

Today was YHCs 4th Q in 6 days. By now, the scoops of vanilla were overflowing the bowl so I had all intentions of coming up with a fool proof plan for today’s beat down. Well, then I was on the road for 12 hours for work yesterday and decided to roll with a couple ideas I had in my head. It had been a while since I’ve posted at the OG Lions Den site and sort of forgot how intimate certain areas can be. [Read More]

The Notorious K.I.M

YHC rolled up to Carpex’s AO known as Point Break, with 2 minutes to spare, to see 20 men raring to go. There were about 4-5 dudes in full sweat from the pre-run. Also, thrilled to see CarpEXers Khakis and Peeping Tom. Then I couldn’t believe my eyes………standing there like fishes-out-of-water…….3 Raleigh punks……and 1 SouthWake punk S’Midget For Life. I friggin’ hate those guys!!!—sorta. After botching yet another disclaimer, we were off for a short jog to the backside of Cinebistro for some warm-ups of: Invisible Jump Rope, Sir Fazios –> GM –> Phleps, Merkins –> MC, AirForceOnes, and Saturday Nite Stretch. Detour

When Hanson asked for someone to step up and take his Q this morning YHC gladly accepted the challenge. The first detour was expected since it was well advertised that YHC would be the QIC. The next detour was caused by the locked gates. The site Q’s need to see someone about that since it was starting to be a regular occurrence. The third detour was YHC realized the field was locked. Pre long run, Murph-esque Dora with extra stretching and an attempt at F3 art

It feels as though it’s been a little while since YHC has Qed a workout. There was a little stumbling with order of events, but all in all, I think the PAX received a decent beat down. With what was supposed to be the Tobacco Road 1/2 and full marathons scheduled for this Sunday which is now the new and improved OTB TRM, the original plan was adhered to with no lower body exercises while trying to get the training plan’s 2 miles. Boy Band Bullpen

Most call it a shield lock - others call it a boy band, but one thing is clear. When your fellow boy band member calls you in from the bullpen due to being placed on the temporary disabled list, you step up. Hamm may appear to be invincible and has often used the motto “You can’t hurt steel,” but he does pull up limp from time to time despite all of that. [Read More]
